Edson murder, arrest made
Hey gang,
you might recall the murder of a 14 year old girl in our community in September.
I would like to advise that an arrest has been made. No further details have been made available, but the town is abuzz with media and police.
Hopefully we will soon have a resolve to this tragedy that has affected the family and our community.
thanks for the support from those that have sent it.
regards,
Axel aka Sample00

Great news. If he's guilty of course. Hopefully they have the right person and you guys can get some closure on this terrible tragedy.

That is fantastic news - as mentioned, providing the culprit is indeed guilty. Always comforting to know justice may yet be done.

I must admit when I saw the title of this thread I actually did a fist pump at my desk.
The area I cover is right around Edson so I know a lot of folks that live up there and it's really good to see that there might be some closure on this horrible story.

Excellent news!
Am I recalling correctly that there was another attack shortly after the murder?
Are they arrested for that also?

another attack was reported but turned out to be a false accusation.

I'm going out on a limb here.
3:1 odds the suspect is a previous offender with a huge laundry list of offenses and outstanding warrants.
Any takers?

Great news. Probably won't be too shocking if it's someone in the family.

Sadly no, the accused individual has no priors that we are aware of.
it would have been easier to understand if the individual was like you described.

Wow, the murder of an unrelated 14 year old kid is the first crime this person has been charged with? You don't see that too often. Sure hope this means people can rest a little easier.

I'm really pleased to hear this. We got stopped near Evansburg around the time of the murder by the Police. Pretty scary to hear about the crime from a policeman while driving in the area. My wife was totally freaked out by the time we got to our cabin at Lake Isle.
Very good news Sample.

good morning again.
just so everyone knows, the man arrested is someone that I am familiar with. It is after all a small town. Having said that, I am in complete shock. I would never have thought in a million years that this individual would have perpetrated such a crime.
Its totally unbelievable.
Now that the arrest has been made, I believe the RCMP will do its complete due diligence in attaining all the information available to charge and convict.
I hope the family can take some comfort in whats transpired over the last 24 hours.
