Being British is an advantage sometimes. I know proper protocol and given that GG is the Queen's rep it was easy.

My email to her had perfect British protocol. It went something like this:

"Hey posh girl, if you know what's gud for you, you better stuff this Frog pansy lefty coalition thingy back up their wazoo. It's pants is what it is. Dion's a proper wally and don't even get me started on that lefty commie Layton. All we are saying is give Stevie a chance. Thanks love."

See, job done. Nowt to worry about anymore.

After 66 pages, I still can't understand why anyone would want a PM that wasn't voted in by the majority of the voters.

Ok, I am not going to read the last 66 pages of comments, but here are mine.

I am mad at Harper for trying to kick the opposition when they were down by trying to eliminate the election money to the parties. I don't think it was the time or the place to do it.

Having said that, I am extremely upset at the opposition. I am sure they have been called every communist name in the book in the last 66 pages and I feel the same way. It would be one thing if the government had been sitting for the last 2 years and the opposition wants to bring them down, that is not the case, they were just elected into power with more support than the previous election. It hasn't even been two month and these yahoo's say they have no confidence in the government. SO WHAT. The Canadian people do and they showed it by electing them in.

These opposition members have done nothing but split this country into pieces. It is absolutly disgraceful and I hope that if the government falls, the govenor general sends all the parties back to the polls so the opposition can pay for this treachery.

Since when was the last time a majority of voters actually elected a party with 50 percent plus 1?

Because technically none of them were voted in by a majority hence the term "Minority government" O.o

Rumours have 15 MPs willing to break ranks and sit as independent MPs.

I hope that's true; seriously, this is the best case scenario. I don't want to see this coalition take power, but I also don't want to see a Conservative majority. A significant block of independents would force parliament to maintain the form in which it was elected: a fairly strong but not invincible conservative minority.

Wait a sec...that wasn't one of the 10 scenrios....

It would certainly make a lot of sense though. Independants that realize that they were voted in on their parties platform; not that of the coalition. If I were an MP I would certainly look at it, considering the voter backlash this has been creating.

I can most certainly get on board with this.....especially if the majority (pipe dream I know) are Dippers.

I know Dion is a putz in all this, but holy crap is Jack Layton the absolute and utter diabolical devil of the whole thing. His smug assertion yesterday that "Mr Harper should just accept this decision" was one of the few times in my entire life I wanted to crawl thru a TV screen and punch someone.

I've always disagreed politically with the NDP...now I literally hate anyone associated with them that supports this coup.

I know that if I had a Liberal MP and was unhappy about this, I'd be phoning. I think everybody sort of underestimated the rage this would cause in the country.

And that's just it. If you threw up a poll asking whether or not people support the coalition, I'm sure it would be a massive "no".

It's the first time I've seen in a long time that people from all over the political spectrum can agree that the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.

I think 10. Meaning there would be enough independants to vote for the government to stay alive. I just pray this is true.

A few things.

After watching the replay of the parliamentary session today, can anyone honestly say that they want Dion running this country. The man is a disgrace as a leader and I wouldn't want him to represent this country. He was flustered, and screaming and it looked like he was one step from crying.

Duceppe to the press today crowing that he's a soverntist (sp?) and that aything that is good for Quebec (not Canada) is good for him, disgusts me even more. I don't mind the fact that the guy is anti Canadian and loves to bite the hand that feeds him, but the fact that Dion and Layton are willing to get into bed with this man makes me hope that Canadian's consign Dion and Layton to the deepest pit in political hell.

Elizabeth May calling a press conference to throw the Greens support behind the Coalition, then bringing up an image of Harper using the Military to keep the Opposition out of Parliment. You lead your team to zero seats, your a worthless rude shrill woman who gives female business and national woman a bad name. You don't deserve a seat in the house, let alone in the senate, Shut the hell up and resign and let someone who actually has a clue run the Green Party.

Ontario's Premiere is decidedly unhappy with the coalition as he was working on a auto bailout and infrastructure plan for Ontario with Harper and thats on hold now thanks to the freeze in parliment. Nice timing that he came out publically on this. I will be amazed if the Liberal's and NDP didn't just lose a massive amount of Support in Ontario.

The GG is rushing back from Europe, I would expect that Parliment is going to be shut down until the end of the throne speech. From what I understand the GG's email address was basically pounded over the last couple of days, and public pressure might make her ignore the coalition and go right to election if the confidence vote happens.

It will be interesting to see what the Rally turnout will be on Saturday.

Rant off.
