				 The Venus and Jupiter Show

			By Mother Nature!
Go outside and look to the SSW. Next to the moon, you'll see Venus and Jupiter. I don't recall ever seeing Jupiter so bright.

Amazing.

Colour me dissapointed, I thought there was a Sailor Moon spin-off on the air.
I think I saw one of them, but it was moving really fast. The sky has been a busy place the last little while.

It was a great sight just as the sun was setting and there was still some blue in the sky.

I remember in 99 Jupiter was this close, even with a small telescope you can see the big hurricane (red spot) ...very cool.

I saw this from my balcony in China a couple nights ago and for a minute I honestly thought it was a UFO very far away after looking at it with my binoculars, lol. It's just SO much brighter than anything else in the sky it doesn't look right, and when I looked at it with binoculars it looked like it was 5 or 6 lights in a circle with one in the middle, but obviously it was playing tricks on my eyes...wish I had a telescope and could see it without being in the middle of a smog and light polluted sky.

Thanks for posting this. The kids didn't know you could see other planets. They thought they were all stars

Yeah trying to explain this to my 4 1/2 year old led to some interesting conversation, he kept insisting they were stars.
Then when my wife pointed them out to him after supper as Jupiter and Mars he says firmly, "No! Jupiter and VENUS!"

 That's my boy!

LOL! I was explaining it to my 2 year old tonight as well. He's still a little puzzled, but has always been fascinated by the night sky.
