And the Empire would totally kick the Federations ass. While the Federation had about 200 ships in their fleet, the Empire had thousands of Star Destroyers and Super Star Destroyers, and the Federation didn't really use snub fighters, they used larger run abouts which were too big to pass through the Death Stars shields.

And besides the Empire had Turbo Lasers and not lasers on their Star Destoyers which were several times more powerful then the Standard lasers.

Oh and Imperial Officers shot first and asked questions later unlike those wussies in the federation who always wanted to negotiate.

The Federation, frankly it sucks, hell they even let their families live on their star ships.
In DS9, the Federation had one-man snub fighters.

They also appeared to have tens of thousands of ships... since thousands seemed to blow up in each war episode and in the next one, there were even more. Maybe just bad writing. Of course, wasn't Voyager NCC-75000 and something?

However, TOS Federation seemed to be willing to kick way more ass than the TNG ones. No families or letting other empires be aggressive without response. The DS9 ones got more realistic and vicious when their smug attitude almost got them all wiped out. Once they got vicious, the Dominion was screwed. That's what would likely happen in any Empire v. Federation hypothetical.

"Is there any nudity in it?"

Nice use of audio from Extras (which was a hilarious episode BTW - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg_cwI1Xj4M).

As a devoted fan of both franchises, my loyalties have always been torn. But Picard will always be the undisputed ass-kicker of space; even Vader would lose to his superior intellect and strategic thinking. Besides, the Enterprise would taken out that Star Destroyer like nothing.

I don't know, considering Picard would be on the ground after their first encounter. I think it would pretty much end up like the OP video. Besides the amount of weaponary on the star destroyer I think would be a hand full for the enterprise and that doesn't include the 72 odd tie fighters. Like the Captn mentioned they are turbo lasers not the typical lasers that the enterprise is immmune to. In a land battle it wouldn't even be close.

Federation would totally destroy the Emperor's legions for one reason, intellect. Captain's like Kirk and Picard were constantly solving very perplexing problems, and they were merely the starship captains, not federation leaders.

The emperor in Star Wars was an idiot. First, whenever he wanted a new apprentice, he compelled them to kill the old apprentice in front of the old apprentice. If the old apprentice wins that fight, is he not going to turn on the emperor next? Second, you've got all the fire power of the clones and the droids fighting each other until the point that they turn on the Jedi. Afterwardsm the emperor turns of the droids....ummm, wouldn't you have a lot more power if you kept them on and had BOTH the clones and droids to do your bidding?

Kirk and Picard would destroy a mental midget like that.

(ugghh, I can't believe I've been drawn into such a nerdly conversation. I'm going to go to a 'SPORTS' website now)

While Picard was trying to negotiate and preserve the peace the Empire's Imperial Walkers and vast army of Storm Troopers would be burning down the Federation Command Building and planting their flag on the ashes. Picard is a bit of a wuss to me, lets try to talk our way out of stuff and solve problems. Meanwhile the Empire is all about, lets kick the crap out of it, destroy it, kill their aunt and uncle and move on. Meanwhile Picard would be getting needles shoved into uncomfortable places by an interogation droids while convincing himself that there are only three lights.

Two things. Palpatine's plot to take over the galaxy imho opinion was brilliant. He manufactured the enemy, played a massive chess match where he created a massive Jedi Trap that he used to destroy a 10000 year old order. All while throwing the biggest bad ass Samuel L Jackson out of a 100 story building.

On the second apprentice point. Deception is the way of the Sith, there can only be two, one to embody power and one to crave it. Your always looking for a new stronger apprentice or servant. If your the apprentice your always looking to kill your master when he weakens so that you as the stronger entity can take his place. Look at how he handled his second apprentice in Dooku/Darth Tyrannis. He promised him power and then fed him to his new apprentice. Sure Palpatine got a bit lazy in the original Trilogy. But a young Palpatine would have the federation destroying itself in a week.

I also can't believe I'm about to do this, but as everybody knows- Luke's aunt and uncle were killed in a domestic dispute.

**breaks out his Star Wars/Star Trek technical manuals**

Apparently in the Star Trek universe, "lasers" are used in mining applications, but are not viable as a weapons technology since the development of shields have rendered them completely useless. Phasers are higher power and fire a different type of energy that can weaken or bypass many types of shielding technology. Score, 1-0 for ST.

In addition, shields have reduced the need for fighter/bomber type ships as warships carry enough firepower to handle just about any type of situation in naval combat. Fighters do not carry enough weaponry to penetrate star ship shielding. Score 2-0 for ST.

Star Wars gives us the death star, which has enough power to blow up a planet. Score 2-1 ST.

Star Trek relies on time travel to tell stories. Score 1 - 1, Tied.

Star Wars has the force. Score 3 - 1 SW.

Star Trek uses Q as a deus exmachina tour deforce. Score 3 to negative 10. SW.

Add everything up and Star Wars wins by a land slide.

However, I think both Star Wars fans and Trekkies/Trekkers can agree, Cylons are hot as hell.

Star Trek - sinks and bathtubs in everyone's quarters. No Toiler

Star Wars, look at the size of the toilet that Darth vader was using, and it swivels too.

winner Star Wars.

As a fan of both, well not DS9 that was the worst tv show in history, I was supremely disappointed in this.

And was I the only one who found it irritating/distracting that the clip went back and forth between the old uniforms with no collar and the new uniforms with collars? I couldn't get over that. Oh and it just wasn't funny.

That's odd, a large majority of trekkies or just general sci-fi fans find DS9 to be the absolute best of Star Trek. I'm guessing you never watched the Dominion War.

I've heard this numerous times. Especially the part about the war. I just thought it was stupid from the beginning and refuse to change my mind.
