I was leery to buy this, but maybe will change my mind after all.

I agree with the Axl Rose & Friends comment though, pretty hard to say it's GNR in my mind.

Been listening to it since Sunday and I have to say I'm quite impressed. Not the best rock album of all time, not even the best G N' R album, but solid song writing and Axl's vocals sound good as ever. Better than the best crap Nickleback could ever produce...

Looking forward to the next album, hopefully not another 13 years.

it's a wall of sound that's for sure. Many rock songwriters couldn't write some of the music and very few could assemble all those pieces into anything coherent let alone some damn good songs. It's impressive and certainly grows on you.

ON the next album...who knows but Sebastien Bach, one of the few people that can claim to be "close" to Axl, says there are 2 others in the bag. 1 to be released in 2 years and the other another 2 years after that.

Wasn't a huge fan of GnR but I'm a fan of this album...pretty solid all the way through.

very true. less the frontal assault of say, "Welcome to the Jungle" and more the complex instrument arangements of "Estranged". But a fine album nontheless, even without Slash.

I think it is pure genius, the layers of music he has crafted into each song is mind blowing. Not 13 years wait mind blowing - but much better than a lot of the crap today.

In terms of what?

Being A-holes? No not joking. They are.

Being talented? No not joking. Bach has an amazing voice and vocal range. Songwriting is questionable to say the least. Axl also has a one in a million voice.

WHAT!........Bach has had one......maybe one good album....and then what.........My voice is also one in a million.

Don't get me wrong Appetite is still the best rookie album of all time....but come on I can name 10 better singer/song writers than these two!

If these two are #11 and #12 on the list of greatest singer/songwriters, I'd say that's extremely talented.

I'd say Axl is up there, but Bach.... meh.

List what list.....again with the lists........Bach.....what have you done for me lately.......Axl.......the majority of G N R (real R N G) songs were written by Izzy and Slash....

What list are you using?

He's using YOUR list. You said you could name 10 singers better than Rose/Bach. He said... well ok, so then being 11 and 12 all time isn't that bad, is it? Obviously, if you're going to name 10 singers better than them, you're not going to start with Pee Wee Herman, are you?

Correct I can name 10....but that by default does not mean there are only ten better than those two.....

I hear that, but it's not like this is in front of a Senate Committee or something. He's just making an intertube point.

So Bach only has one good album he has a hell of a voice and honestly his Skid Row albums are all good. You just need to look at what they've done since he left to know who the major part of that band was. His voice is amazing. He has more than one platinum album with strong vocal performances and has found himself the lead on Broadway. That shows some pretty good talent in my books.

And I shouldn't even need to defend Axl. He's a great vocal talent that has influenced countless individuals. His songwriting is strong. Long winded, egotistical, overblown songs at times but some amazing music nonetheless.
