Default FPAG 2008 Stoke Thread!

Any word on the premiere?

It is usually this time of year that the fireplace debuts.

BTW I really think Shaw should have some kind of lock on PPV ordering after a certain hour, so people aren't drunkenly ordering things like FPAG in HD at 3 in the morning in mid Febraury, and then feeling like an idiot when the next cable bill comes.
If you pay 2 bucks for that I think you should anyway... No matter how clear it is.

Bell Channel 805 in glorious HD.

Does the Shaw one have music too? Bell has some Christmas tunes playing.

Shaw has it on 230, but no Xmas music. For that you can watch Channel 2 and the tree. There is also the SD version of the Fire on Channel 1....

Hmm we have the fireplace here but I've never seen any arm throw a log onto it. I feel cheated.

Ahh now I'm in the winter mood with FPAG. His smooth stroking of the logs will help me finish off these final weeks of school and the dreaded 3 am essays!

FPAG Sighting Logbook:

When: 01:19, Dec 2
Who: Red Plaid
Used: One hook poker
Logs added: 0
Log moved: 2
Status of Fire before: 4/10
Status of Fire after: 8/10
Comments: Good timing. Didn't let fire die too much, but still had plenty of fuel to play with. Efficient use of time by using minimal log movement to create a picturesque fire. Used the lean-to method by moving one of the horizontal logs to vertical, leaning on the back as the other two, then moved the last horizontal underneath them to fuel the fire. Good initial flameage and long term burning potential with the vertical logs.
Overall rating: B+

FPAG Sighting Logbook 2:

When: 16:23 Dec 2
Who: Blue Plaid
Used: One hook poker
Logs added: 0
Log moved: 2
Status of Fire before: 2/10
Status of Fire after: 9/10
Comments: Precise placement of the logs for maximum flame distribution. Excellent poking ability shown by FPAG, could be the starting FPAG next season. No documentation recorded of exact motion path used by FPAG.

When: 20:04 Dec 4
Who: Blue Plaid
Used: One hook poker
Logs added: 0
Log moved: 2
Status of Fire before: 4/10
Status of Fire after: 7/10
Comments: I didn't think I was going to get to see one when I checked during the Flames intermission, as the fireplace looked like logs had recently been added. But the logs were to close together to allow proper air flow; FPAG came in and spent a surprising amount of time (maybe 15 seconds) working one outside log into a better position, then used a quick twist move between two of the inner logs to open up a better space.

Comments: This was a great one. He just came in and in a single move pulled one log out of the way, which resulted in a big shower of sparks on the left side. It also caused one of the interior logs, previously upright, to drop and twist 45 degrees, which quickly erupted in a massive blaze. Very impressive.
Interesting side note, there was some conversation off-screen immediately after the move, and then some laughter. It wasn't a deep, hearty laugh, so by process of elimination, it must have been the camera guy rather than FPAG.
