I don't think I like the design too much. X-box 360 looks nicer to me.
The PS3 controller looks like the stupidest thing ever invented. I hope its not the real final product.
However, the Killzone trailer looks amazing. It looks like being in the middle of a real war.

To be fair, I could care less how pretty my Game console looks.

Wow.
Won't be at the front of the line myself, but it looks seriously kick a$$.
I am sure the controller will be paired down a bit...unless you have some long fingers.
Big points again for backward compatability too.

Xbox360= The new Sega Saturn
Sony will win the next generation war. Their software support is beyond excellent.
Microsoft shows a clear lack of confidence in their product by rushing to be out the door first.

I am not a video game guy, but the cool thing about this is that it doubles as a bluray hd-dvd player. Those players were expected to be in the $1000 range when first released, but with this coming out at what, $300, there is no way anyone can charge that.

I bet it will be $300 for the PS3 and $700 for the remote to use the bluray hd-dvd player.

I think sony is learning. About time they came up with a system that has more then 2 controllers. Except i would fire who ever works in the controller department. Its like that simpsons where they give malibu stacey a new hat, only with this they give a ps3 controller points.
Every new system comming out will have its games/fans, pros and cons. I like the x box better then the ps2 but i still like them both for different reasons. Both systems will be good for the next generation of gaming. Who knows, maybe nintendo will blow them both out of the water with their secret plans.

You guys all know that Nintendo Revolution will have the most fun games. Don't fight fate.
edit: There's no way at a price of $300 that the ps3 will have blu-ray compatibility. Keep dreaming.

It is blu-ray, it's in the specs? You really think they'd make it much more than $300??((US) I don't.

I read the specs but am still quite skeptical about blu-ray compatibility. That hasn't even been accept as the standard format yet little alone begun building blu-ray roms to any economy of scale to make the price acceptable to consumers.

Exaggerate much?
It just looks like a stretched and skewed PS2 controller...

Some are saying how Sony might not win the format war againist Toshiba.
A format war could also hurt Sony's next-generation PlayStation videogame machine, which executives have said will use Blu-ray discs, the newspaper said.
CNN
Just some what ifs ...
What if Toshiba and Sony finally come to an agreement for the next DVD, would this hurt their development of PS3?
What if they don't come to agreement, and lose the format war?

As of now, I'm leaning towards the PS3. Mostly because of the backwards compatibility. I'm going to wait till both consoles are realeased and tested before I decide which way to go though. I'm pretty open at this point.
Oh, and unless those controllers play a lot better then they look I'll be very dissappointed.

The PS3 is its own economy of scale to bring the price down.
The GameCube used a totally unique mini-CD format (it spun in the opposite direction even) and they didn't have any problems keeping prices inline, and the GC sold far fewer consoles and games than the PS2 did or the PS3 will.
If no HD disc format is agreed upon and the two will compete in the open market (a la Beta and VHS), having Blu-Ray in PS3's will be a strong force on Sony's side. And worst case if Sony loses that format war, then that just means PS3 games won't be copyable like PS2 games are (and that the PS3 won't be a HD-DVD player).
Plus taking a loss on the console seems to be a given these days.
Sony's great for overpromising and underdelivering on their specs though, so I can understand your sentiment. Until these things are in our hands, take everything with a grain of salt

Nintendo hasn't lost a single dime on any GCs sold.
And people say they're in trouble...
