Looking for a few GMs for Season Two. Still a few loose ends to tie-up from season one - will the Sabres and Flames meet for the Stanely Cup?
We are planning to hold a demo of the game Sunday Nov 9th at Pete's Pub at 2000. If you are interested, come out and give it a try. We would like 8 - 10 teams. Play each other twice, then playoffs. It will only require a committment of 1-2 evenings per month. With practice, you can finish 2 or more games in on evening.
We will have to decide on a method for picking teams. I think we will move players to match existing rosters as at the start of the 2008-09 season.
Expected back:
Aeneas, Slava, cyclone, Bruce R, troutman
Have expressed interest:
WindomURL, Agamemnon and friends.

One problem with matching the current rosters is that there are some players completely gone from the NHL (eg. Warrener, Eriksson) and new players in their place (eg. Pardy, Giordano). I'm not opposed to matching the current rosters, but we would need an agreed upon method to fill in the vacant spots.
I am very interested, but you know Sundays are already taken for me, Troutman.
Looking forward to a new SOM season....

By losing, do you mean getting the Flames?
How about this:
5 guys got thier first choice,
2 guys got thier second choice.
That leaves me.
My 1st through 3rd picks are gone.
Guess I gutted that lamb on the deck for nothing.
Anyone know how to get the stench of burning entrails out of your clothes?

Second Choices -
Resolute14 - Calgary
Prototype - Pittsburgh
Aeneas - Anaheim - he has asked if he can switch ANA for BOS - any objections? ANA is probably a better team on paper.

Bruce R - Detroit (safe choice)
troutman - New Jersey (defence wins championships)
WindomURL - Dallas (Avery causing problems with team chemistry)
cyclone - Montreal (how will the game cheat to award MTL undeserved PPs?)
Slava - Washington (run out of Detroit)
Resolute14 - Calgary (rookie head coach)
Prototype - Pittsburgh (will miss Hossa)
Aeneas - Anaheim or Boston? (does he think he is Brian Burke? -pick a team!)

I'll take Boston, so I can trade Kobasew and Ference to you soft hearted ones.

no objection here.
Question: Is Zdeno Chara's card bigger than everyone else's?

Sorry my e-mails are not getting to you. The techs are working on that.
Anyone available for games Friday or Sunday night?

no and no, the three older ones have something Friday nights and the youngest on Sunday nights. Being that I'm the chauffeur...
Saturdays are going to be the best for me (just not this one, Christmas Party).
On occasion, Fridays or Sundays might work...

I'm out as well for both days, which sucks since I would like to see how this goes.
Probably next weekend though.

The holiday season and weather has delayed our start, but I think we can get going the last week of Dec or in the New Year.

Last week of Dec is no good for me, as I have friends over for the week.
Early in the new year works though. I do still intend to actually be a part of this.

OK, let's get this party started. Does Friday the 16th or Saturday the 17th work for anyone? We generally like to meet after 8:00 pm. Possibly at a GM's house, or my board room.
We could also designate every Sunday night as a default at Pete's Pub.
