I was wondering when someone would pick that album. I always feel so lonely when someone mentions Radiohead. I think there's one song of theirs that I like. I am just not a fan. Maybe someone can school me, but I just don't see it.

I'm the same. They have a couple that are ok, but Yorke's whiny voice doesn't do much for me (and calling youself "Thom" instead of "Tom" really bugs me for some reason, too).

With my 4th round pick, in the Punk category Bad Habits by The Monks.
1. "Johnny B Rotten"
2. "Drugs in My Pocket"
3. "Love in Stereo"
4. "Bad Habits"
5. "Spotty Face"
6. "Dear Jerry"
7. "Nice Legs Shame About Her Face"
8. "Inter-City Kitty"
9. "Out of Work Musician"
10. "Ain't Gettin' Any"
11. "No Shame"
12. "Skylab (Theme from the Monks)"
I listened to this album over and over on a drive to Florida in '89. Forever in my mind will "Skylab" be associated with driving through Ocala National Forest on the home stretch into Daytona.

Find the original release if you can. The re-release in 2002 features re-recorded drums and bass, which do not do justice to the original. The title track gives me goose bumps to this day. Randy Rhodes at his finest. He tragically died in a plane crash shortly after this was released. I still can't understand how Blizzard of Ozz gets so much more airplay (the nauseatingly overplayed Crazy Train) when this is a much superior record IMO.
Dusty was probably the biggest female pop singer of the sixties, certainly the biggest of the British Invasion. She'd had a string of hits on both sides of the ocean - 'All I See is You', 'I Only Want To Be With You', 'Spooky'. She really wanted to be taken seriously as a soul singer though. So the Atlantic Records crew sent her to Memphis, Tennessee, and hooked her up with Tom Dowd and Jerry Wexler - the guys who'd made records like Aretha Franklin's 'I Never Loved A Man Like I Loved You' and Otis Redding's 'Otis Blue.'
The result shows that you can come from anywhere and still have soul. 'Son of a Preacher Man' was a massive hit of course (and was again decades later thanks to the Pulp Fiction sound track), but the whole record is great, start to finish.
Man this thread has really struggled since being moved to this forum. Where's Sowa?
to be fair, its not like we were flying through it in the off topic forum either
the 24 hour grace period makes it move a little slower too, as the other drafts use(d) 15 hrs

12 hours is a little short if a pick are made after midnight as most people don't have Internet access during work hours.... but I don't see any reason why one isn't able to have a pick in before 7:00Pm regardless how much time they have on the clock
And if there is a good reason, then it's probably more important then making a fantasy pick so it's doesn't matter if your missed you order
