I wasn't going there at all.

I was simply stating, that based on your comment I quoted that it would be fair for me to infer that you were not a fan of the music of any of the listed artist because they're dirty hippies and you don't like the art they make.

This has NOTHING to do with the origins of Rock n Roll which is another debate entirely. For the record, there was much more music at Woodstock than the very narrow and idiomatic genre of "Rock and Roll".

It is unfair to cast all hippies as bongo players. Most hippies are not bongo players, and not all bongo players are real hippies. In fact, I'd say most of the bongo playing I've heard has been from 3rd year Oppression Studies students who have no sense of rhythm and are only playing the bongos because they think it's a cool thing to do at protests. There may be some really cool bongo playing going on out there... unfortunately, that other lot has spoiled it for me.
