Sorry, I should have said I think this team will be even better next season. All the young players with a year more experience, and don't need to gel for the the first half of the season.
If this team can play the whole season next year the way they did down the stretch, they will have a very good record next season, better then the 15-5 they did this season. IMO.

I met Brett the day my 1st son was born. He went down to Raymond to pick up his wife so they can have their baby in Calgary and she went into labour. They wound up having the baby in Lethbridge. My dad and I were walking in the hospital and saw a CFL game was on in the tv lounge. We stopped to see who was playing and I asked him if the Stamps won the previous game. Some guy who was sitting by himself watching the game said "No, we lost. Blew it in the 4th.". I just assumed he was a huge fan who said "we" when talking about the team. He then asked if I'm a fan, to which I affirmatively replied. I commented that he must be a big fan to, and he said, "Well, I play for the Stamps". I immediately became confused. What is a Stamp doing in Lethbridge and how can this tiny guy be a pro-football player? My dad knew right away who he was though, and they carried on a good conversation. He is a good guy and my favorite Stamp because of that day.

Well, of all situations to win a Grey Cup, I think that had to be the toughest a team on the road would ever have to experience. I'm still shocked. In my mind, I had them losing against the Als in a close one and winning next year in Calgary. I thought the youngsters and Henry needed to get a taste of the Championship game and that the experience would better them for it. I never pictured them winning it IN Montreal IN FRONT of 66,000 +!!
Now, after winning, this team is poised to be dangerous for the next several years. They have a ridiculously young offensive line that has the chance to become the most dominant in the CFL. Mike Labinjo has emerged as a franchise defender....as well as a very young secondary. And obviously on offense you have Henry in the midst of his prime, as well as a lethal ground attack and receiving core.
The West will be a war once again next year, but this team should very well be back here next year. Congrats Stamps......what a fun season to watch.

I enjoyed the win and a great second half by the Stamps. Offense managed the ball and the defense was outstanding. Personally I thought Labinjo was the MVP and not Burris but Henry can have it for overall year performance. Labinjo was the playoff MVP IMO. He came up with outstanding plays just at the right time in both games!!!!

Yes, she as pretty hot, but I could tell she has a bit of an acne problem on my HD. I'd just get her some Proactive and baddabing, baddaboom... then I can go in.

I listened to the game online CHQR site at Denver Airport yesterday until the first half is over. Then we started boarding the plane. The whole flight I was wondering what is happenning at the game and really can't wait to get home and watch the game on tape. I recorded the game on the good old VCR. There was no mention of any score or the game from the pilot. When we get to the airport at 10:00pm (flight were delayed big time), I told my nephew not to say anything about who won and what was the score. I wanted to feel like watching the game live on TV..like screaming if I have to. When I got home, I tried to go the beginning of the half but I guess I went too far, and they were showing NFL. I was getting ticked off because I thought I screwed up. Rewind some more and while rewinding, the TSN Sportsnetwork came in and they were showing Burris interview and crying so basically ruined everything except that I was so happy that we won the Grey Cup.
It looked like the defense most especially Mike Labinjo really cranked it up in the second half. He was a beast and I am so happy for him. I guess he showed Higgins and Creehan that they made a mistake not playing him last season. I am also happy for Sandro for his great game especially after the snob. The best part is seeing Henry Burris finally won the big one. Like I mentioned at the beginning, before Mike Vernon won the Stanley Cup for the Flames, everyone was telling him he can't win a big one and will never win it. He just won 3 Cups after, right? I hope Burris will follow suit.
Congrats STAMPEDERS and THANK YOU for a wonderful season!! It just sucks that I am following the game all season then missed the biggest game. Oh well... next year for sure!

I'm going to pretend you didn't just add Stone Temple Pilots into that mockup name of bland rock bands.

When CGY made it close at the end of the first half, I thought CGY had it all under control. All year they have been great at making 2nd half adjustments, and taking over the game. The Stamps only allowed one point in the second half - amazing.

Exactly. This team has be tremendously well-coached. Not just Huff, either. All the coaches did an amazing job with this team.
Not just mid-game adjustments, but also the the way they are finally a team. It's the same group of players over the last four years, but this year they came together and started playing for each other instead of themselves. If that doesn't have "coaching" written all over it, I don't know what does.
...but, of course, the MTL coach will still win the Coach of the Year.
Edit: As an aside, it's really amazing how much other teams' fans absolutely HATE the Stampeders. Maybe I've been living under a rock or something, because I just don't get it.
...but I'm loving it! Ahhhh yes, the smell of jealousy in the morning...

They can take all the individual awards because I wouldn't trade that Grey Cup.
MOST of the Lions, Eskimos and Riders fans will always HATE the Stamps. It is the same with us Stamps fans hating those teams as well. I can't stand the Eskimos because they have been Stamps big rivalry. The other two teams I cannot stand especially lately because of their cocky fans(not all of them though)

Since I always call people out for hating on Rider fans I must point out that you were very careful not to put all of us in the same grouping.
I count myself as the not cocky Rider fan, who loves his team but remembers it is just football.
Congrats to the Stamps on their GC victory.
I was seriously considering heading down to McMahon yesterday with my Rider hat on because living in Calgary I never got to see the Riders homecoming in person and have never seen the GC up close. It would have been nice to experience the homecoming even if it isn't my team of choice.

One thing that this Grey Cup win makes me think of... for years, I remember hearing media personalities talk about how one of the previous cups was tainted in fans' minds because we didn't win on labour day that particular year. I think it's mainly brought up just before the labour day game to show how important that game is. But seriously, does any Stamps fan care for even half-a-second right now that we didn't win on labour day this year? I know I don't.

The people who say Labour Day means more than a Grey Cup are just trying to sell Labour Day tickets, or commercials on TSN's Labour Day broadcast...
...or are this year's Eskimo fans.

People who even think that's the biggest game of the year would probably be wrong, at least the past 4 seasons. IMO since Burris came over from Saskatchewan and turned Rider fans into a bunch of scorned ex's, the Stamps/Riders rivalry has trumped Stamps/Esks, at least as long as Burris is a Stampeder. When the Riders are in town you can just see how much more fired up the team, and crowd is. Definitely more than the Labour Day Classic.
EDIT: On a side note, I don't know if this was already mentioned in this thread, but I thought that Huffer's "We got em right where we want em!!!" pregame speech was awesome. That totally fired me up, I was ready to run through a wall when he said that. But instead, I continued to drink beer and fill my face with chips and chicken wings. I think he'd be proud.

+1.
For a coach that doesn't really appear to be the type to get all fired up, that was a speech worthy of the movies. Listen to that reaction.
For those who didn't see it.
