Wasn't sure if I should've put this in "other sports", but it is not a team sport.... yet...

okay, does it have a governing body, method of judging, defined set of rules and regulations? I doubt it, having said that, i vote for inclusion in the next olympic games!

Will there be both men and womens pole dancing?
This is ridiculous though.
And what is an LDS housewife?

I read through some of the comments; this is my favourite.
Quote:
Are these people friggin serious? Isn't it bad enough we have synchronized swimming (NOT a sport), that ridiculous winter sport where they use brooms and some odd looking hunker thing and sliiiiiide it across the ice - no one even knows the name of this thing - certainly NOT a sport.
All pole dancing will do is get the idiotic guys excited - as you can read from above. WHY WHY WHY do these ridiculous people come from the US and not some other country? Geez, they make us all look like idiots.

What an incredible coincidence, I want it to be an olympic sport too!
In all seriousness I saw a dancer once who I really didn't find attractive in the least bit, but she pulled out some of the most impressive and athletic pole work i've ever seen. It was like watching a gymnastics routine ... set to "living on a prayer".

Today the 2012 summer Olympics were rocked by the "lap dancing scandal" where judges votes were influenced in the Olympic VIP room . . .

On the main page it reads "Utah Studio wants pole"
I'll admit I chuckled.

If its inclusion keeps softball out, I'm in full support.
