Default A lot of NFL teams interested in Cameron Wake

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=2566...headlines_main

22-23 teams in the NFL seem to have expressed interest in Wake and he could have very well played his last CFL game for now.

Great CFL player, but I have a feeling that won't translate so well in the NFL.

I suspect we'll also see Browner in the NFL from the Stamps next season.

Agreed. But again, the NFL isn't all that great for the tall DBs, and that was the knock against Browner when he was drafted. But with the smaller field, he should be just fine in his 2nd stint down south.

I just looked up Browner - wasn't drafted, signed by the Broncos in '05, broke his arm in preseason, put on the IR, missed the year, waived in the summer of '06.

So he has never even really had a shot in the NFL.

My mistake, he was touted as a 4th or 5th round pick, but that's the reason he wasn't drafted beacuse teams were scared off by his height and ability to play up to the NFL level.
I wanted the Vikings to draft him...but noooooo.

How many CFLers have gone on to bigger and better things in the NFL. I know a number have gone on and been backups/bit players, but who has gone and made a name for themselves?

Moon, Garcia, Flutie, some kickers, Mervyn Fernandez, Marv Levy. Maybe Mike Sellars?

its a tough thing to do as they are both different playings styles. sure they are both football, but the dynamics of both games make it difficult to transistion, including the rules, coaching style, hype and media coverage...some players are special and can be great in both, and some never try once they find a niche in their league (and who can blame the nfl guys when they get paid twice as much)

There's a been some lesser known ones over the years too. Darryl Hall and Harold Hassalbach were huge parts of the Stamps D and if memory serves were able to leverage that to a ok NFL career.

Two names that comes to mind anyways.

He's definitely not a superstar, but Rashard Jeanty's(former Eskimo) starting at OLB for the Bengals, who are on TV right now. He's been starting for them the past couple years. I've heard his name called a few times tonight already.

Ok I think Cameron Wake is a good football player but how many of his sacks came against the weak teams in the CFL and home many came against good?

In the NFL Wake doesn't get to play the Argo's and Ti-Cats.

He will likely get to play some terrible o-lines.

Its not like the o-lines in Ham and Tor are brutal, teams yeah but cmon.

He was playing in the west, so majority of his games would've been against the western teams. But to have a season like he did was amazing. You don;t see those kind of numbers much at all now.

I think he will make it as a spot duty player. Extra rush end.

This was at a time that the CFL often out bid the NFL for graduating college players.

Joe Kapp QBed the Stamps and the Lions and later led the Vikings to the Super Bowl under former Blue Bombers head coach Bud Grant. Like Garcia and Flutie he never got any respect by the American media though.

Bob Jeter a DB and HB, played for the Packers after leaving the BC Lions and won 2 Super Bowls. He just died on the 20th at 71.

There was some guy my brother played Junior football with in Kelowna named Jermaine Haley. Played for the Argonauts one year than went to the NFL and played like 3 or 4 seasons down there for Miami and Washington. He was a Defensive tackle. Not exactly a name guy, but got a few years as a NFL guy which probably put him in good shape financially.

I think wake would be good in a 3-4 defense a 4-3 would be tough on the smaller field
heres hoping the Pats look at him and Browner
The pats secondary is painful guarantee browner could make an impact there
