And DeSean is only getting more comfortable in the Eagles offense. There will be many more big play calls going his way as he seems to be McNabb's go-to-target now. Possibility of a huge second half for DJ.

I agree though, Chris Johnson is hands down the best rookie this season.

I'd also just like to say I can't remember a rookie class in recent memory that has performed as well as this year's. The players already mentioned and guys like Jonathan Stewart of the Panthers, Matt Forte of the Bears, and Nathan(?) Horton of the Redskins have been big time players for their respective teams.

We could potentially have two rookis WRs in Jackson and Royal go over the 1000 yard mark for receiving. I can't remember the last time that happened.

Just looked it up. Since 1990 their have been only five receivers to post 1000 yards in their rookie year. Joey Galloway (1995), Terry Glenn (1996), Randy Moss (1998), Anquan Boldin (2003) and Michael Clayton (2004).

Edit: RubeCube knows what I'm talking about with Chris Johnson.

Titans need more respect. They're 8-0! And while they probably won't go 16-0 they are most certainly 8-0 for a reason!

Top defense and a run game that will pound it down the other teams throats all games. It isn't pretty but it gets the job done.
And an exceptional coach.

At some point they will have to stretch the field though. At least I believe that to be the case.

They deserve all the respect they get though.

Don't forget Hightower for the Cardinals.

LOL there was a lot of offense which means there was not so much defense. I missed most of the Flame's game watching this entertaining outing. I wanted to see Quinn(being a Notre Dame fan) and he was very, very good. Very calm, good footwork and especially his quick accurate release.

That they lost really didn't matter to me as I really could have cared less which team won but very impressive debut by Quinn.

Maybe we can look forward to many future AFC duels between Cutler and Quinn. Perhaps they will replace Brady and Manning as the big QB rivalry.

Here is the autopsy of yet another wasted Brown's season:

I like that guy. He's undrafted too isn't he?

No surprise, Ryan Torain has a torn ACL and is out for the season. Perfect.

My guess is they sign Mike Bell or maybe even Cecil Sapp.

Well thanks to that win last night I think Denver will win at least 7 games this season. I mean they still have KC and Oakland coming into their field, so those are two guaranteed wins. The Chargers still have the 4 easiest Division games left on their schedule and they really should win all of those so that would give them 7 wins too. Mind you I keep waiting for the Chargers to wake up and start playing like the team they should be...and so far they haven't. But if either team finds a way to post a 9-7 record, I do think that will win the Division.

5th rounder.

He was impressing all through-out pre-season and training camp, but the Cards phased him in slowly since he came out of 1-AA Richmond. He's been very good all season - his low YPC is only a product of being the goal-line/short yardage back. With JJ Arrington playing well as a good change of pace and 3rd down back, look for the Cards will definitely cut Edge before next season.

They're doing the same thing with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (who took Eric Green's #2 CB position this week).

Looks like this might finally be the year where the Cardinals get over the hump. For a team in a bad Division their 5-3 record is as legitimate as you can pretty much be. Their only losses were all tough road games against Carolina, Washington, and the Jets. The only game where they looked bad was the first half against the Jets. Other than that they've been pretty good, and at home they've played really well so far. Theyd easily take that Division with a 8-8 record (I think they should get to 10-6 though), but I think they're a team that could do something if they can get a couple of home playoff games.

Agreed. However they kind of need a big play receiver before that can happen. The team the way it is now is playing to their strengths and not exposing their weaknesses, which is just solid coaching and game plan but they definitely need more talent at receiver.

Jeff Fisher and Mike Shanahan are very tight. But I'm starting to wonder if Fisher really likes Shanny since he suggested we pick up Calvin Lowry.

A short interview with Barry Sanders. I post this for 2 reasons.

1. It shows where the mindset of someone who is not self centered and who is subjected to more than his fair share of losing is, depsite his greatness.

2. I ran into his Dad last Saturday. Had always heard he was a first rate jerk (and his inductions speech 5 years ago did nothing to dispell that) but he was very friendly to me and obviously extremely proud of his son given his attire at the time.

The Fins were rolling right along until that interception thrown by Pennington. I am impressed with this team. I know they keep preaching about playoffs on fox today but I still think 8-8 is reachable, more likely, and would be considered a huge success.

Not that this is the only problem on the roster(also way too much $$$ on that DL with not much to show for it)...but if the Saints dont start seriously addressing their secondary problem(and by that I dont mean little touch-ups like Gay, Glenn, Kaesviharn and David. I'm talking a legit big-money S or CB), they are going to blow their opportunity of having a serious contending team while the talent is still here. Unbelieveable how bad it is.

Worst 3rd down D in the league(outside of Detroit). 3rd and 9 and I have no confidence we'll stop it.

Jets 40 Rams 0 at halftime.

The Jets scored 10 points in the last 29 seconds of the half and 16 in the last 6 muinutes +.

I'm not watching but I'm guessing there was some superb clock management involved.
