x2. If you live anywhere near me, you're not on my Facebook page. It's for the overseas friends.

I personally think its about a 10. This happened to my sister recently by someone close to her, who read some personal inbox messages that were not meant for anyone but her and the other person communicating. It's caused her some grief, for reasons I can't say. It is personal stuff and the person that did this is banned from facebook.

By no means did I ever go looking through her inbox or anything of that order nor would I ever do anything of that nature.

Put me in the "don't mess with the relationship" camp.
Yes, a strong relationship should be able to withstand something silly like this. But that doesn't mean there isn't tension created, or that something like that could cause a bit of a fight.
We do these kinds of pranks on each other at work. People get invited for lunch, cosmetic surgery announcements go out, and people declare their "true" feelings for co-workers. But even if we see somebody's wife/gf's email in their address book, that line doesn't get crossed.

He doesn't use facebook anyways, and yes I know it was a stupid prank but they both live together, there was no spat between them at all.

I would say about -100 on the jerk scale.
If someone takes facebook that seriously they have bigger issues than someone putting a joke up on their page.
And if it causes problems in a relationship because a buddy changes the status to "Its complicated" on facebook then you probably did that friend a favor by showing him/her what a nut that partner was.

I'd put this at a -50. It doesn't even come close to a fake proposal.

It doesn't even matter. I've had my profile saying that I was looking for "Men" for months because I didn't realize that my roomie had changed it, lol.

Haha "its the same as breaking into a man's home", wow! Man Facebook is gay. I've been seriously considering deleting my account for awhile now, the only reason I picked it up in the first place was because I was getting harassed by alot of my friends to do so.
I dont know how you kept a straight face when he said that to you.

Have you considered deleting him from your friends list?
Then you'll have to decide if you want to keep him as a friend on the facebook.

ha ha, if their relationship is at the point where the girl look's on facebook, sees his relationship status has been changed to "it's complicated" and even with the explanation "my friend obviously jacked my account and changed it", still gets bent out of shape and a serious fight ensues, then that girl needs to take a step back and realize she's taking that silly site way way way too seriously.

Pfft. Someone got mad about that? Back away from them slowly and seek new friends.

One of my friends refused to join facebook so we made a fake account for him and some friends got mad at him for not responding to friend requests or messages on facebook. He didn't even know he had an account. He took it as a joke and still has the fake account

I do want to say there was no fight between them, just people calling them from Ontario wondering what was happening. But ya I'm finished me gig and am dead tired, maybe we can move on to other reasons the internet is serious business.

Meh, this falls squarely into the "who cares" land.
Now that fake proposal.... that's funny, but likely over the line. She was pretty pissed.
Still... funny as hell.

My wife found mine open, went into language settings and changed it to English Pirate. It was pretty funny.
At the start of the Flames season I came across hers and updated her status to say that she was thrilled that hockey season was back again.
One of my Not's buds I changed to saying he is now an avid Flames fan.
He got revenge by taking a pic of my dog in his Canuck jersey and threatens to post it...i'd go postal!

This, I can't count how many times I left my computer unlocked and there was various adds on the work classifieds from me looking for 'My Little Pony' dolls so I could complete my collection.

I really am completely shocked by how many people think this is a big deal...
