Less searching, more picking Bobblehead
Oops... I guess Hart50 is ahead of you, but this thing is taking forever.

Quick question, what are peoples thoughts on compilation albums where there's more than one disc? Are we allowed to pick those or is that a no no?

I don't see why these wouldn't fit the bill.

You mean like a Greatest Hits disc vs a Box Set?
Technically speaking, a Greatest Hits disc is about 10-15 songs, while a Box Set is usually the band's entire catalogue. Although, I guess a Box Set is the very definition of a compilation, I'm not sure a 10-song disc can compete with picking an entire bands music catalogue.
I'm not sure...

ah, that might be a little trickier. I was thinking more double album sized. A box set might be a bit much.

Oh. Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. Some bands have more hits than others.

I was hoping a box set compilation would be ok. If not, I have to rethink my picks.
If there is a limit, what do you think of 2-disc maximum for compilations?

I think a Box set is like a greatest hits, and should be fine.
The only issue I could see is some artists have released a number of different Greatest Hits, and I would hope we wouldn't see 3 people pick a different Greatest Hits by the same artist.
I would suggest that only Greatest Hits/Box set per Artist can be picked in the draft (by anybody).

box sets are a little tricky though
some bands have box sets that is literally every CD they put out, it wouldnt be fair if someone took said box set and those albums then were no longer available
as for one greatest hit/box set per artist, there are some artists that have been around for decades and have enough songs to put out multiple greatest hits albums without having any over lapping songs as well

Yeah I was going to say that too. Some bands/artists have spanned eras and their greatest hits discs are era specific.

I propose re; greatest hits - 2 cd max - no box sets - a band/artist can only be selected once by all GMs for greatest hits

Another question - We are only allowed to choose an artist once, but what if I am choosing a soundtrack that has a song or a few from an artist I have already picked, is that okay? Am I being too nitpicky now or what?

K, it's shared with anyone without needing to log in to view/edit.
Bobblehead, how did you get those Album (Year), Album (Type), Album (Genre) labels to span several columns? I'm not familiar with Google docs yet.
