I'm currently finishing up Metal Gear Solid 4, and starting Little Big Planet.
It's time for me to move on to my next shooter.... and was leaning towards either Bioshock or COD4.
I know they are both highly rated games.... does anyone have a recommendation of one over the other? I'm looking for a unique experience, so I leaning towards Bioshock, because I have a feeling COD4 is just another war shooter game (but a very good one).

I just bought fallout 3, MSG4 and Resistance: Fall of man.
Just started resistance, so far so good, but I am only a few levels into it.

OK NHL 09 really pisses me off.
I started my rookie season, got called up to the Flames, moved to the top line, scored 16 goals and 10 assists and had a plus 28 in 25 games, decided to sim a week so that I could get closer to the playoffs, and ended up in the minors because of my bad attitude.
That to be honest is stupid, if they're expecting you to play all 82 games then the sim engine is ######ed.
Grrr, now I have to work my way back up, or put the game up for sale.

I played all 82 games and after scoring a hat trick in the Stanley Cup winning game, getting consideration for the Calder, signing a two year contract I ended up getting dealt to LA for Michel Ouellet. Talk about loyalty.

I'd lean towards Bioshock. For the single player campaign, Bioshock is about 4 times as long as COD4. COD4 is still awesome tho, just short.

After several hours of tutorials, I feel I might finally be ready to tackle a littlebigplanet level this weekend.

Kipru have you seen the beta shots for HOI 3? Hearts of Iron 2 was/is great, this looks even more (!) involved.

yeah, I bet it will be a huge timewaster. I just hope that I could command just the land troops in that game, and leave the air and naval units to AI. I just don't know how it could be done, some auto-defence and auto-support attack functions maybe...

How is this? I saw a preview and it looks really good. I haven't played an RPG in a long time and was looking at getting this one. Is it complicated to get into? Any other thoughts on it so far?

I've only played 2 or 3 of the levels so far. I keep going into the tutorial mode, finding something cool to make and then spending an hour making useless crap. I get side-tracked way too easily.

Early impressions, it's Oblivion set in post-nuclear war. Both games have similar Stats, perks, and skills.
I always find that it's kind of heard to start up, but once your character gets established and you start defining what kind of character you are playing, it gets more fun. The side quests take a lot longer, but that might be because I haven't discovered any locations yet so I can't fast travel.
All and all, pretty good so far, trying to be (modeled my character off of Sark, from Alias)

It's one of the best RPGs I have ever played. It's also one of the best shooters I have played. It also runs pretty good as a survival horror game. It's just simply one of the best games made in the 360's cycle.

I'm really enjoying the game. When I get into a mission I can become very engrossed; the atmosphere can sometimes set me up so well that just a door opening can scare the crap out of me. The combat works really well and can result in some very frantic and gruesome moments.
I'm currently playing the game as the virtuous flower child who runs around helping everyone with love and smile. I plan on going through it again and robbing everyone blind. With a shotgun.
Getting into the game can be a bit of a pain until you figure out where you are going and get a lay of the land. I suggest that if you are getting lost or you can't find something in one of the areas to follow the signs, as sometimes the levels are layered vertically and the map doesn't help one little bit.
Also the game is available on PC and PS3 but just to warn everyone the PS3 version does have some problems that can be a pain in the neck.
