I don't care where I pick, but there is one show I absolutely MUST get.

Yeah the favourite channel thing is a bit wonky, with all the different carriers and providers.... unless you mean network, in which case that makes a bit more sense, but I still would have difficulties, since I just watch a couple shows. I have no clue which network they're on.

I know what you mean. I'm probably going to blow my first round pick, but if I don't get this show it's going to suck seeing it on someone else's team.

I like the list. The only minor suggestions I would make are to change "mini-series" to "mini-series/tv movie", and "Home Improvement/TLC/Life Network etc. (Home/Garden)" to "Education/Information", which would cover all of those types of shows plus incorporate JerzeeGirl's suggestion.

TV shows that go on metaphorically murderous rampages, with their targets being the individual brains of their viewers.

Can someone please explain what exactly Comedy (open) is? And as for the Pre 1980 show, can it be of any genre? Comedy, game show, anything? And I'm asuming that the other shows can be from any era?

I would guess it would be something like SNL - not a situational comedy, but comedy none the less.

"Serialized Drama" is basically a nice way of saying "Soap Opera". The term Soap tends to conjure up images of certain types of shows with outlandish and unbelievable sexually-charged plots.

I'd say that all soaps are serials, but not all serials are not soaps.

Please forgive my use of real examples, but honestly, if I'm naming a show you hadn't heard of, you probably shouldn't be participating...

Desperate Housewives is a full-on soap opera.

Gilmore Girls wasn't really "soapy" but was a serial (based on the few episodes I've seen).

Are there really that many open comedies then? Aside from SNL and the one that's on Fox, are there any other shows like this? Maybe I don't watch enough TV to know...

Not as many as other genres, and I don't want to start listing them but there are more than a few. And don't just think skits (although that is the easiest example) there are other types that I would consider in this category.

Thanks...I've got a couple of ideas now.
