Default New Bell Channels

So my guide now goes up to an astounding and somehow pathetic 1616 as my highest channel. HBO and HBO2 in HD. Weird part is the 1400-1600 channels are just the regular HD channels but repeated (800-860).

Also the MC channels have been cut back and changed. Now 308-310 instead of 320-323, so one less channel. Still have EA1 and 2 but they are not 311-312 I think.

Really looking forward to the HBO channel.

This has been brought up over on DHC, and the general thought is that Bell isn't adding much more, just re-mapping the HD channels. Basically the HD version of a channel will be 1000 higher than the SD version. For example:

TSN- 400
TSNHD- 1400

FOXW- 290
FOXWHD- 1290

A&E- 615
A&EHD- 1615

Makes sense to me; fewer channel numbers to memorize.

I don't get it. HBO Canada will be added the same time it is added on Bell. We won't get East and West feeds, but it will be there tomorrow apparently. One SD and one HD channel.

How much is it for the Movie Channel with HBO and everything? I went on the website for the details, but they just told me how to order it and didn't tell me the price.

Thanks.

Really? I didn't know that. I retract my statement.

So, does HBO Canada basically replace one of the Movie Central channels?

Instead of MC-HD1 and MC-HD2, we'll have MC-HD and HBO-HD?

It appears so.

Hmm. That makes sense that they are remapping, I was wondering why all of the channels were duplicates.

So far I'm liking HBO though. John Adams marathon today. It's an ok show.

Makes sense ken. DirectTv (I think) has all their channels similar where it would be:

TSN - 400
TSNHD - 400-1

FOXW - 290
FOXWHD - 290-1

Either way that would be great but for the most part I have them memorized now but it would help new subscribers for sure!

Well I just had a text "conversation" with a friend who is management at Bell and she is saying they are having issues right now, but she is not sure if the "new" channels are suppose to be there or will be in the future. Who knows...

Are these "issues" why my guide isn't really working at all??

No idea what the exact issues were. All I know is they have been having them due to implementing the new satellite they launched...how true that is I don't know though.

Ya it looks like MC2HD is being replaced with HBO1HD & HBO2HD. I'm super glad HBO is finally here (even though they still have to put in CANCON in) but I wish they could have left us 2 HD Movie channels as well.

I'm putting a call in to see if a second Movie HD Channel is hopefully coming back.

How can they get rid of the second HD Movie channel??

You're right, I don't want to watch movies in HD at all.

Whats up with SportsnetHD 5? 872

I couldn't find the Canucks game on because it wasn't in my favorites...
