140 yen/litre. Three weeks ago that was about $1.40 CDN but with the value of the yen shooting up over the past three weeks it's closer to $1.95 CDN now. Yikes.

It was $2.25 a gallon in Iowa, yesterday - can fill up the work car for around $25 now, as opposed to $35, or more, a week, a few months ago. That certainly amounts to a good savings when I'm filling up three times every two weeks.

It is not so much the gasoline itself, as it is the additives and detergents that are added to it.

I haven't read the whole thread so not sure this was answered.
And I'm not positive about this instance but I do know how gasoline could be cheaper in Ottawa than Calgary.
Firstly though, curious if you could tell me why you'd expect crude to be cheaper in Calgary.

Gas is always cheaper in Ontario than Calgary. I don't know why.
I don't drive in Australia but prices have been between $1.50-$1.60/L AUD over the past month.

With price regulation the price is calculated every second Thursday. Not sure if that will be tomorrow or not but if there are huge decreases elsewhere and it's not a calculation week they will make it a calculation week.

Yeah, I'm running on fumes and am not sure to fill or not. I'll put $10.00 in and wait until I hear something tomorrow. Regulation hasn't help us at all, if anything it keeps the price higher for longer than other places (NB & PEI at least).

I don't know what the original poster thinks... but I would expected gas to be cheaper in Alberta overall because of the refiners and rigs we have... With the transportation costs being less, I'd expect it to be cheaper. And before the sky rocketing of gas prices like 5 years ago... gas in Calgary was cheaper.

Well many people said regulation responds quickly to price increases and slowly to decreases. From what I can see those people were correct.
