DD on Halloween, will pay
As some of you know, the CP hockey team has a game in Indus at 11:15 on this Friday, oct 31st. Since the game would have been hard to get players to come out for, we decided to write the game off and just get smashed at a pub leading up to the game, and then get a large van or bus to get us to the game and then back to the pub after.
We will likely get a large van that can fit us all and our equipment. However, we will likely be searching for someone to drive our drunk asses around. So I guess your job would entail being at our pub of choice by about 9:30pm, but you could show up earlier if you want, and semi-join in on the drinking (as long as your good to drive). Then drive us out to Indus (I think it's southeast of Calgary, but not too far), then watch the game (This might not be that fun, however our drunkeness might make it kind of entertaining). Then drive us back to the pub after the game. We probably won't be out of our dresing room and ready to leave until around 1am.
So you would basically have to be commited from 9:30 til 2am, and we would pay you for your efforts. I still have to work on how much money we could give you, it would likely be north of $50, but we can negotiate.

...and if you show up early enough, you can order some food and a couple beers or shots or whatever and we'll cover it.

Sweet, we found our man!
In all seriousness, the DD can definitly drink with us, just as long as he/she is okay to drive at 9:45 or whenever we leave.

One drink is one too many to be driving around after! Especially a night when there is so many kids running around at large.
I'm unsure if this post requires green text or not...

Well, right now we're looking for a Designated driver, but as the week goes on, if no one takes the job, we'll have to move on to designated drunk driver. That wouldn't be ideal, but desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Don't worry, I read another thread on CP today that tells me that no CP'er has EVER had a drink and driven.

So I'd imagine they either wouldn't provide a driver to pick us up, drive us to hockey outiide Calgary, watch a game, then drive us back to a bar...and if they did, I'd imagine the costs would be astronomical.

Yeah, with the current thread about DUI's up I seriously hope you guys are joking and Mel isn't considering showing up and seeing what happens.
Don't mean to be a downer, I've made mistakes in the past too, but I've learned from em. Just passing it along.

I guess a little more green text is needed in this thread. No we're definitly not looking for someone to show up, get plastered with us, and then drive us around.
I mean don't get me wrong, the driver can definitly hang out with us and have a couple of drinks or whatever, just as long as they're okay to drive when we're ready to head off to the game.

I'm not getting in with a drunk. Our driver HAS to be sober for this to work. If not, then jared steals an ambulance and we go in that... maybe hold someone hostage to drive, then free them and hope they have a quick case of Stockholm syndrome.

I apologize to the people who responded to the drunk driving comments in this thread. We definitly weren't seriously discussing whether hiring a drunk driver was okay or not.

I don't think they know you well enough to tell when you're kidding (if its even worth kidding about). It's all good.
Now, back to the topic. We need a sober driver.
So far, here are the incentives:

I guess that's the language that's scaring some people. Many would argue they should probably not have any. As has been discussed many people are not good at figuring out when they are over the limit, allowing the person to have some opens up room for bad judgment.
I'm pretty sure everyone here knows you're not going to go at any costs, or encourage drunk driving, or make stupid risks, I just think some of the language makes people worry about bad judgment.
