It's pretty obvious that Canadians who watch college football generally cheer for the big programs, not Pac-10 teams. Simply because they're actually on national TV more often. So I really don't understand why ABC feels the need to extend their regional coverage into Canada where there's no conference allegiances to worry about.
|
Since Calgary's feed of ABC is from Spokane Washington...you know...where there is a PAC 10 team right beside them??
Strangest complaint of coverage I have ever seen.

Sowa...any nerves about the coming showdown in Lubbock?
Pretty impressive win by Tech this weekend, even if KU isn't the team it was last year.

I understand that it is PAC-10 country but do people in Spokane really want to watch two crappy teams in their conference but that they really don't care about?
I could understand if it were Wash St or Washington but I would think even the Spokane folks would much prefer to watch the game that actually matters.

Yes a lot of nerves. Honestly going in to the Kansas game I was writing off the Tech game. They hadn't impressed me anymore this year than last. But, that demolishing of KU has me a bit worried. If you asked me on friday I would have predicted a UT blowout win, now I am hoping for any kind of win.

Probably already mentioned, but interesting story about the Texas Tech kicker.

Ha I was a kicker in highschool until we made it to the state championship and I slipped and shanked a extra point which cost us the game and I was never to kick agian.
It was fine by me it cut into hockey practice.

I didn't know that, but the point remains.
I'm a UW Huskies fan and I sure couldn't care less about two mediocre California teams...especially when there's a game with national championship implications.

Huge day today... Texas at Tech and The World's largest cocktail party both have National title implications. How come half the SEC has non conference games today? Bama vs. Ark State and Ark vs. Tulsa are the 2 off the top of my head. Interesting to see how Tulsa does against Arkansas even though Arkansas stinks.

The first of the two big games starts right now. GO BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly if the BCS Championship game is anyhting other than the winner of the SEC v. the winner of the Big 12 it'll be a travesty.
I know USC is a great team but the PAC-10 just isn't what it used to be and Penn State plays in the Big 11 which is a tier II conference now.

I go to school in Jacksonville but skipped out on the Tailgate this year. I went last year and it was absolutely wild. Pulling for the Bulldogs because Gators fans are as obnoxious as Nucks fans.

Well some pretty simple blown field goals and some terrible turnovers and this game is over. The gators look good, and as much as I HATE Tebow the Gators are going to give Alabama all they can handle in the SEC title game, the winner of which will go to the BCS title game.
I can't imagine a one loss Florida (assuming they win the SEC) doesn't compete for the national championship.

texas tech up at half. their defense had a monster first half. good stuff so far.
EDIT: crazy finish, tech with a touchdown to take the lead with 1 second left, then the fans rush the field twice before the game is over forcing 2 usportsmanlike penalties on tech for the kickoff. the last second is going to be interesting...
EDIT2: Tech did it, MASSIVE win for the raiders with two tough games left on their sched. great stuff.

The TV got commandeered for this game--so I haven't been watching the Flames game--but this was really an amazing game.
