Come on you Reds!
I'm predicting a 2-1 liverpool victory. Keane and Kuyt to net for us!
Side note, anyone here a part of LFC Calgary? I'm been meaning to go to On the Rocks to meet some people and watch the matches, but haven't been able to yet?

I havent, but I've thought about it. Not too many Reds fans around here to watch matches with.

Not sure if I should have bumped the Newcastle thread but boy do they look terrible, down 2-0 at the half, heck the only game they won was the one I went to, these guys need to get things organized and turn it around very fast.
I feel bad for Owen having to stay in this gong show.

Newcastle are in serious danger of being relegated.
Excellent game by the Reds, taking two points away from those filthy toffees at home.
In other EPL news, Arsenal loses at home to Hull, and Man U steals 3 points from Bolton off of a pathetic dive by none other than the Portuguese Gold Medal diver Ronaldo...

Very nice win, Torres seems to get back into goal-machine-mode and Keane also played well - I have the feeling that we will see his first goal soon now that there is some chemistry up front. Too bad the ref robbed Torres of his hattrick.
It's really disgusting to see Ronaldo back on the pitch. Somehow I could still pretend that he went to Spain and won't annoy me anymore while he was injured.

Thoughts on the CL game?
nm, posted in Champions League thread.
I really want to see Babel being put to better use now that Riera is really solidifying the left side.

Was that not one hell of a game at Eastlands?
Absolutely incredible win, 2 more goals from Torres who is looking in fantastic form this season and finally one from Kuyt in the EPL.
What a comeback!

back in town now and ready to comment on yesterdays game.
Incredible. 2-0 down and come storming back. Torres should have had a hat trick at least. He is truly remarkable. He had so many quality chances. Best EPL game I've seen from them (well, the Man U game was excellent as well) in a while.
Good decision on the straight Red. Brutal tackle.
Sucks about Skrtel though. I have a feeling Real Madrid won't be getting Agger now!
Next up Wigan, should be good for at least a point, likely 3 and then a couple tough ones against Atletico Madrid and Chelsea. That will be a good week of football.

Skrtel is bad news, but thankfully we do still have Hyypia, who is a more than adequate replacement until Skrtel is fit again.
It will be interesting to see if any moves are made during the next window. They seem like they're really starting to gel and Torres is knocking them in like they're being given away for free.

ya Sami will help during league games, too bad he's not on the CL roster. now we put our faith in Agger, although he's proven he can hold his own

Nope. New UEFA rules say that four players in the 25-man squad must be produced by the club's own academy, while four others can be produced by an English academy.
No Sami in CL this year. He was pretty chapped too.

Thanks, wasn't aware of the new rule.
I don't get them though just like that one a good few years back when there was so many home country players that had to be started on a given night. Basically affects the English, Italian and to a lesser degree Spanish clubs with little impact on the others.
It's the best club tournament in the world. Keep it simple and let the teams field their best available teams on any given night, period.
As I'm reading it though he's not completely out given that a new list can be submitted in the New Year prior to the knock out stages.

Hmm. I've never heard that.
Makes sense though I suppose since the transfer window is open then.

But here are some Spurs jokes.

Wow. After years of Chelsea being unbeaten at home we took the fortress down! The last 15 minutes of the first half weren't too good for my heart. But after expecting the 2nd half to be even more stressful I was surprised about how calm I was - their 2d half performance was that impressive. Together with the impressing flames win this makes for a great sports weekend.

Huge, huge win. Away, at Stamford Bridge, with no Torres and they get a goal from Alonso, the unlikeliest source.
Sole possession of first!

Not exactly a convincing win against Portsmouth, but I'll take the three points. Rafa fielded a weaker team, but they just couldnt break Portsmouth open, they defended with everyone behind the ball the whole game except Crouch.
I'll take the points though.

Just finished watching the Portsmouth game, not the best game but a good result. I'm more and more impressed by Babel everytime I see him. Quality player. Would be nice to have him start more, but who do you take out? Midfield is solid right now
Now, the Chelsea game. What a game! Carra and Agger were all over the place, and liverpool dominated. Only way that game could have been better would be to have Fatty Frank score an OG.
Looking forward to the Tottenham game. They had a good one today against Arsenal (with a good result). Will be interesting to see how they change under Harry Redknapp
