Team NC-17 is happy to select, in the WAR catagory - STRIPES
If it wasn't for Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Lost In Translation, What About Bob, and a plethora of other great Bill Murray movies, this would be his iconic piece.
- Originally a vehicle for Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong.
- As a result of this movie, the song "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" has become a popular cadence in the US military.
- According to Ivan Reitman in the DVD Commentary, the scene where Bill Murray is loading the rich woman's suitcases into the trunk and he hits himself in the crotch was accident. Murray really did hit himself in the crotch with the case, thus his very real line "Oh, my balls."
Classic none the less. I highly reccomend for the John Candy mud wrestling scene. It's worth it.
I love the scene where all the recruits are introducing themselves to each other in the barracks.
Candy was great in this movie for sure.

With our latest selection in the Fantasy category team Yippie-Kay-Yay is happy to select one of my childhood favorite movies.
Unendliche Geschichte, Die (The NeverEnding Story)
Bastian is a young boy who lives a dreary life being tormented by school bullies. On one such occasion he escapes into a book shop where the old proprieter reveals an ancient story-book to him, which he is warned can be dangerous. Shortly after, he "borrows" the book and begins to read it in the school attic where he is drawn into the mythical land of Fantasia, which desperately needs a hero to save it from destruction.
I apologize to everyone in the Movie Draft for dropping the ball this round. So let me just get my 15th Round pick out of the way here...
In the 15th Round, StrayBullet proudly selects Pi written and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Pi will fulfill the Black & White category
This raw, black & white film by Brooklyn born director, Darren Aronofsky is a story of a mathematical genius who tries to comprise a program that will dictate the behaviors of the stock market. The story is narrated by the main character Max, who soon realizes that there are forces at large who will stop at nothing to steal his code. Gritty, low-budget and informal, Pi is an excellent thriller that binds genius, skepticism and religious values into this late 90's masterpiece.

Good pick Stray! And talk about REALLY fulfilling the B&W element- that has to the grainiest, darkest, least filtered film print ever, and the film is all the more awesome because of it.
Is it possible to change my war pick of Battle of Britain to Das Boot. Didnt have time to put much thought into that one...
Sorry for being a delay recently.
I would vote no mainly because of the precedent it would set.
And also, because you took 62 hours to make that pick. Wasn't that enough time???
I agree with that for the precedent reason. I'm sure a lot of people would have movies that they would switch due to ones that hadn't occurred to them earlier, and people have gotten around that problem by moving a previously selected movie into their wildcard to open up a slot in one of the other categories.
