Not sure serve and volley works in today's game. Players are incredibly athletic and hit the ball so hard. The reason you see less and less serve and volley these days is because it's suicide. The return of serve goes flying by you before you even get to the service line.
And how is his fitness? 38 years old? Men's tennis is so physically demanding that players in their prime right now can barely get through the year without injuries.
I think it is flattery. I don't think he would be able to crack the top 20 playing year round. That being said, I would LOVE to see him play Wimbledon and the US Open this year as a wildcard to see how he fares.
