I was curious - has anyone picked this game up? It looks quite interseting, if you're into the whole survival horror genre. I'm thinking about getting it tomorrow

I rented it for a week and was about 3 hours in. Hopefully I can give you a decent impression of what the game is like from that.

The story is very much like "Aliens" with as good or better story telling. The game plays more like an action game than what I would term "Survival Horror". Proof of this is the fact that I was actually able to get through 3 hours without having a heart attack (I don't take scary stuff well), but there are enough surprises to give your heart a good start now and then. The game may become more survival horror-ish later on, but I never got that far.

Combat is solid, with the new and interesting mechanic of being forced to slice off limbs instead of randomly shooting bullets into an enemy. This makes for some pretty gruesome fights.

All in all, a pretty good game if you are into a creepy plot, gruesome action and the occasional heart pounding surprise.

PC, XBox 360, and PS3 but apparently the control scheme for the PC is horrible.

Yeah the PC port is apparently quite terrible.

I got it for the 360 and played it all the way through quite quickly which I don't usually do. I found the story actually interesting (I never find the stories interesting), and I really enjoyed the minimalist interface, the levels and the graphics.

It's one of my favourite games in the last year or so.

Yeah, I'll be picking this up.

Fable 2 looks just boring - I don't care to make friends, or just take hours and hours exploring for fun. It's too bad, but honestly, I don't have the time to play. I like short, QUALITY, engaging games nowadays.
