With the 267th pick (13th round) Girly's In-Box selects the SilverSun Pickups in the West Miss category.
Started listen to these guys a couples years ago and enjoyed it.
Quote:
Brian Aubert (guitar/vocals), Nikki Monninger (bass), Christopher Guanlao (drums), and Joe Lester (keyboards) comprise the swarthy indie rock stylings of Silversun Pickups. The quartet's textured melodies capture the hypnotic dream pop threads of My Bloody Valentine and pop bitter sweetness of Earlimart, and such a blend has wowed their native L.A. since 2005. Silversun Pickups issued their debut release, the six-song Pikul EP that same year while shared show dates with the likes of Brendan Benson, Dead Meadow, Two Gallants, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club followed into 2006.

I was was wondering if another draft could be held, focusing more on albums, and newer music.
Something like:
Album 1981-1985
Album 1986-1990
Album 1991-1993
Album 1994-1996
Album 1997-1999
Album 2000-2002
Album 2003-2005
Album 2006-2008
Album - Jazz
Album - Blues
Album - Rock
Album - Rap/Hip-hop
Album - Folk, Country and Western
Album - Electronica/Techno
Album - Metal
Album - Punk
I haven't been keen on the newer music thing you were talking about, but I could definitely handle this format. Definitely.
I'm up for anything music related and probably whatever Girly has up her sleeve for this next one.
That said, we could run a small version of your idea without her and keep it to people we know will participate?
Just a thought.

Wow. I was wondering what happened to this.
For my FINAL pick I would like to add to Temporary Canada's Own:
The Trews
"I know they aren't would the World category was designed for but they are one of my all time favorite bands and I wanted them on my card. I went into this thing designing what I thought would be an amazing weekend festival. On the final night, the dream band would play a bunch of songs written by Trent Reznor, my Songwriter."
"You can hear it in the first four bars of the album. A meaty, beaty, big and bouncy drum fill, followed by a glistening guitar line that could have been ripped from an old Rockpile album, and a breathy Hammond B3 so beautifully captured that it seems to conjure the dimensions of the room it sits in. It’s huge, but intimate. Heavy, but airborne. And the hook is strong enough that you could hang a whale from it." http://www.thetrewsmusic.com/bio.php

Good idea. My thought is to get out of the "classic rock" mode, and learn about some new music. Always looking for new albums to add to the collection.
GS is busy enough, so we could certainly run a draft if she is overwhelmed.

You're definitely welcome to run any draft for any topic without me.
I'm always available to help anyway I can

I'd suggest limiting the number of participants to something like 10. More than that and the people at the ends may have way too long a wait and may not notice when their turn does come up. Keep it smaller, keep it moving, and everyone will be a bit more happy. If 20 people want to do it, set up 2 identical pools, just make sure they keep moving.

so here's my suggestion on how to end this thing
Get the judges to look at the teams as a festival line up with the song writer writing songs for the all star band for the final act.
Judges decide on which festival they would be most likley to buy tickets to.
Winner gets a custom title of "Music Producer Extrodinare" under their name
