I definitely don't have a speedy metabloism. It took me a good 6-8 months to drop all of that weight but it was just a matter of sticking to a diet that was working for me. My metabolism has also slowed down a bit lately as a result of not eating frequently enough and not getting enough excersise. This has caused me to gain about 8 lbs or so.
Anyways, I guess the only piece of advice I can really offer this thread is to eat a high protein breakfast. I really notice my weight starting to shed when I would eat a breakfast of three eggs every day.

IMO that would depend on when you workout. For me I work out at 5-6am in the morning so getting carbs before and after are very important. That is truly the only time you want to consume carbs. So my Breakfast is usually stacked with carbs and protein.

I am able to get HGH by prescription (shots) from an MD I can also get it for injection ,uh, under the counter. If I get it from the doc, it's $1K a month. If I get it without going to the doc, it's $500. Either way it is regulated and controlled but not illegal. I didn't know that half the gym rats in Boca Raton are doing it .It's a matter of wanting to shoot yourself with it, like a diabetic with insulin. Boca is the east coast equiv. of LA . Forget all the crap you hear about it being only retirees.

Meh, watch 'bigger, faster, stronger'.....film about steroid use in America.
I must admit, I listened to all the anti-steroid people out there, and had a completely 'wrong' viewpoint of how it is used, and what it REALLY does.
For the record, no it doesn't make your biceps blow up.

I coaught something on TV the other day and it could have been that. Did it mention that some girls, through steroid use, have more testosterone than the average 17 yr old boy? My brother took steroids (Anabar) when he played football and it caused his already short fuse to really go off. I like to study brain science as kind of a hobby..I don't claim to know much. But I did read that the only way you can know how much testosterone is in someone's brain (as in how "masculine" a woman's brain is) is from post-mortem tests. I was wondering about myself as my first instinct is usually to "compete" with men but I am not REMOTELY attracted to women. It makes life confusing to me. I mean, I really like men, and prefer them to women in just about every way you can imagine, although no one else is capable of causing me that kinda pain....

I am sorry to say but if you are buying HGH without the permission of your doctor it is an illegal drug. If it is not then they need to stop bugging Barry Bonds!

The whole thing is really perplexing to me. I haven't tried it...my buddy who does it is only 28 I don't know why he wants to do it! But I was told that you have to take it at least 3 months to see results and that after you stop doing it you kinda go backwards. But if it's "black market" like any other drug, legal or illegal how would I really know what I'm getting? And considering that for all its money (lotsa $$$$) Boca is one of the scam capitals of the universe I dunno. Also I could be wrong but wasn't Bonds introuble for steroids and not HGH? And onlyn becasuse the MBA doesn't allow them. not because they're illegal?

HGH = Steroids. It is a designer steroid as illegal as they rest. In the US you can get up to 5 years in prison for having HGH without a proper prescriptions.

There are legal forms of steroids that you can get in the US through a doctor.
Lots of people do it.

Yep and that's what I said if you don't have a prescription then they are illegal.

Human Growth Hormone (HGH)According to Game of Shadows, Bonds used HGH, an undetectable steroid, as a cocktail with a number of other performance-enhancers. HGH is known to strengthen joints and tissue, and allowed Bonds to maintain muscle without any heavy lifting during the season.

A female friend of mine (she's older..in her 50s) got a prescription for HGH from her doctor as he told her it would help keep her skin from thinning due to aging.

Aside from the legality do they work especially as an anti-aging supplement? I'm going to the nutritionn store to get the stuff you have been mentioning HOOT as at this point I seem to be doing okay without any expensive measures.

Yes. It's purpose when invented in 1950's(?) was to help children who had a stunted growth problem and then people realized it could be used for anti-aging. It wasn't until about 10-15 years that people realized you could use it to become strong, faster, etc.
However I have read (don't know how reliable the sources were) that once you go off the HGH, especially the designer stuff, your will break down twice as fast.
Who knows all I know is personally I would stay away from it like every other steroid. I could never be convinced that it's advantages are worth the risk of what it will do to your body, especially your liver!

I also heard that they're not too great for your circulatory system. My dad passed away from lymphoma in his 50s but otherwise my family..both sides...live well into their 90s and beyond. However the heart tends to give us problems which is what worries me.

On Discovery Channel had a show called "Superhuman - Building Big" and it will tell you exactly how steroids work and what they do to the body. It is quite amazing, I have thought about doing them just to see, but not worth it. IMO I would rather live longer than lift an extra 50lbs.

Hmmm maybe that's the program I saw. Ha I'll stick with CO2 lasers and stuff to look good..and I'm really strong for my size anyway, as well as for a woman. And I truly think so much of it is in your genes, as unfair as that is.

IMO some people just need to work harder and don't. Anyone could be "ripped" but for most that can be so time consuming it's not worth it. Diet is huge too!
I bet if most people set aside 30 minutes a day (15 cardio/15 weights) they would lose a ton of weight even without changing their diet. It's amazing how little time it actually takes...

Yeah you're right. And it's funny,no, it's actually sad, that so much of what people (at least most of the people I know...and yes I do mean MOST) blame on aging is really the result of negligence/self abuse. I have a neighbor who is 5 yrs older than me...people think I'm her daughter! She has led kind of a partying/rough life. Some people are just always "old'..I don't know how to explain it. That's why I love the gym. It's like forget the number of your age and just go for it. The people there are an inspiration on every level and in areas that have nothing to do with physical fitness. Respect for your body really can change your life.
