I think that Oklahoma is going to really pull away in the second half.

Texas need a lot of luck to put up the points they did and Oklahoma seemed able to score at will against that Texas defense.

It seems crazy how much they talk about how great Muschamp is during the game and all week long and his defense is just getting shredded out there. I know he stayed on the sidelines while bleeding but you would expect that his defense would actually do something to stop Oklahoma for them to talk about him so much. Although I guess it is Musberger so expecting anything other than crap is a little much.

The refs should be shot in this Texas-Oklahoma game. That is twice that Mccoy has fallen and the guy has actually tried to help prevent him fall and they call a 15 yard penalty.

The SEC and Missouri must love these refs though. If Texas wins this game they will get killed in a BCS game.

WOW, now no INT this keeps getting worse for the refs.

Looks like another top team is going down to an upset.

Perhaps some of those one-loss teams are still going to have a chance and we might actually get to see the best team win the MNC.

It sure would be nice to have a play-off to see teams like USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Alabama play each other at the end of the year and see who actually is the best not who has the best luck during the regular season.

The refs called it bad on both sides. The first OU touchdown wasn't one should have been reviewed. The 3rd running into the kicker called on UT wasn't one. The OU interception in the endzone was one should have been reviewed. The 2 personal fouls weren't one. I would say the refs called it equally bad for both teams. UT outplayed OU in the second half whether anyone wants to admit it or not. By the way I am on my laptop on my way home to Austin from the Cotton Bowl. Hook 'em Horns.

Still amazing that you underrate UT after that 2nd half. Will beating Mizzou next week be enough to convince you they are legit?

The second half did convince me as they looked a lot better. If you see when my comments were posted it was early in the 3rd quarter and up to that point OU looked much better.

I still don't think Texas is as good as the best teams in the country but they certainly have the talent to beat anyone if things go their way.

They did a great job in the second half and deserve full credit for the win today.

I thought the calls went in Texas favor more often and for bigger plays, but they did not end up winning or losing the game. The game was won because Texas did a better job of making big plays.

with UT, OU, and Mizzou all sluggin it out in the top 5, everyone outside of lubbock seems to forget about the red raiders, they very well could come out of the big 12 pile on top.

They didn't look so hot against Nebraska today. Their defense is too weak in my opinion. All my Tech friends bragged all summer long about returning 10 of 11 starters on D so they'll be good. Unfortunately, that D was ranked somewhere in the 110's last year. Their D is giving up 20-30 pts against mediocre teams when they run into UT and OU they won't be able to keep up.

Congrats on today my longhorned friend.

Where do they play this game now? I couldn't watch (work every Saturday) but someone told me there is a stadium just for this game every year. Is that true?

Just found out the game is played in the Cotton Bowl. This guy had given me the impression that this was a new stadium. I figured he was off.

Smart coaching by Stoops to only give the ball to Demarco Murray 7 times. That guy doesn't make things happen or anything.

It was kind of funny that they weren't running the ball as that was the big difference according to everyone between the two. UT's rushing attack is weak OU's is better. I was at the game today. Cotton Bowl did just get renovated big time. It was required for the game to continue to be played there. I think they added 15000 seats or so up to 92000.

I will first preface this as saying im an OU guy, since i do attend school there.... Congrats to the longhorns today you out played us. Your not better than us you just out played us ..... I would be a lot more upset if we would have scored and lost by three since we did intercept a pass and they said he was losing control on his way to the ground and you guys got a field goal out of it ..... There were alot of bogus calls namely the interception and the 2 roughing the passer calls ...... anyway it looks like the Big 12 is the premier conference this year. I hope Ou gets into the Natl title game as i still beleive they are the best team in the nation..... Too Bad we cant see an OU/Texas Natl title game....... I guess if both win out we really could but who knows.....
Im not a fair weather sooner so

BBBOOOOOOOOMER SOOOOOOOOONER
and yes TEXAS still Sucks

also after next week, their sched is a beast. i just thought it was worth a mention.

...and with oklahoma state up on mizzou, they have a shot too. this looks to be the most solid group of several teams out of the big 12 in years.

Huge TD by LSU at the end of the half to get on the board and back in the game heading into the locker room.

and vandy coming up short after a huge win last week. tough one for the commodores.

I mean this most sincerely....is there a single Big 12 team that plays good defense? I don't see a whole lot of them beyond OU/Mizz/Texas/TT etc... but from what i have seen....none of them are really strong on the side of the ball that always seems to matter at seasons end.

Soooo....what a day.

#1, 3, 4, all go down in Flames.

I suspect that this weeks polls will look something like this...

1) Alabama
2) Texas
3) Penn State
4) Texas Tech
5) USC
6) BYU
7) Georgia
8) Florida
9) Ohio State
10) Utah

Remarkable changes the last 3 weeks.

USC must be so happy, they're going to be back in the national championship game once the sec and big 12 have sorted themselves out. crazy.

Are you judging OU's and UT's defense on this one game? You have to remember these are both top 5 offenses in the nation. No one is going to stop these guys from putting 30+ on the board. UT hadn't given up more than 14 before today and a lot of those second TDs in other games were garbage time TD's against 2nd units. UT has one of the best front four in the country and they showed it against OU who has one of the best O-lines in the country. Also after watching OK st. beat mizzou they might be for real. UT is not going to go undefeated their schedule is just too hard.

UT will be #1 no way an idle 'Bama who almost lost last week gets the vote. I honestly think Penn St. might be the best in country though. You might see OK St. in the top 10 as well. You think OU will fall out of top 10? If they do it will show how bias the media is for USC who lost to an unranked team and stayed in it.

I guess we will see.

Bama won that season opener over a higher ranked team in week 1 at a neutral site and then went into higher seeded Georgia and basically obliterated them.....then gave up "garbage time" pts late. No reason to penalize them for having a week off....everyone else has had one if not two.

No...but neither defense looked capable of doing much of anything yesterday.

I qualified the question with I havent watched a whole lot of Big 12 this year other than seeing the top dogs. I take it you believe that may of them have gooddefenses....question answered.
