Chris Cornell with Timbaland??
anyone hear the streaming audio on his website? Wow, it's friggin terrible. You're a rock singer, Chris, not Michael Jackson. Very disappointing.

Its horrendous. Its not even like he's trying to "experiment" with more of a hip-hop sound, he's flat out trying to be the next Nelly Furtado or Justin Timberlake. Not like I've ever been a huge fan of Cornell solo projects, but this one just reeks of desperation and an attempt to gain some kind of mainstream popularity. Timbaland is a tool as well. Horrible music.
I was listening to Badmotorfinger the other day. WTF happened to this guy?

I bought tickets to his show next thursday and didn't realize that some of the tour dates are with Timbaland. Thank god the show I'm going to is not one of them - horrible idea.

I'm amazed... usually Timbaland can make anyone sound good, or distract you enough with his producing that you don't even notice the singer sucks.

What song are we talking about here? I don't mind this Scream song....I really like the beat, but that's because I'm a fan of Timbaland's stuff.

Did you forget the green text? I really hope so.
Chris Cornell is the new Rod Stewart.

Since when is trying to sound like Nelly Furtado with a formulaic hitmaking producer trying something new? Chris Cornell is aiming top40 with this. Obviously Timbaland always aims top40, he's creating an overproduced track like he always does. Nothing new or exciting in this material at all. Soccer moms will love it though, they will feel pretty rockin' while driving the mini van and listening to this.

Oh common... just because Timbaland is successful he therefore makes pop crap. Typical. I'm sure you listen to bands that aren't even formed yet, and you'll be very angry if they ever succeed or "sell out" as you types like to call it.
When you hear a Timbaland song you instantly know it's him. He's been great before he was big, and still is.

Who the hell is Timbaland?
I guess I haven't heard a song of his since I didn't know instantly that it was him.

For real? Justin Timberlake is pulling a Sean Combs and changing his name every so often?

LoL..I was waiting for this response. The offended pop fan who wants to call us music snobs for thinking this is crap. Well, it is crap. I don't care if Chris Cornell or Timbaland are successful. Chris Cornell was successful when he fronted Soundgarden, and their music was great. Its all about the music man. And this stuff is straight up bad. Timbaland too, who I would agree has been a pioneer of production in the past, has now started relying on a repetetive formula that all but guarantees top 40 radio play. Good for making money, not so good for pushing any kind of creative boundaries.
If you want to argue that Timbaland and Cornell are business geniuses, I'll give you that. As musicians though...yawn.

I think "Scream" with Timbaland is a pretty good song but will have to agree with the majority of the thread that "Ground Zero" is pretty much just terrible. Unlike "Scream" where the production was fairly good, "Ground Zero" sounds like they are trying too hard for that top 40 song in terms of production and singing.
