What got him off last time was that the police involved in the case were obviously racists. No matter how strong the evidence against him, there was absolutely no shaking the doubts the jury had about the people that collected the evidence.
Mark "these people kill and then go eat KFC" Fuhrman should not be a household name. It's not society's fault it took two crimes to get him behind bars, it's not "the rich buying justice", it was the LAPD's inability to shake its image of racism. Thirteen years later and if the murder trial was held again today, you would get the same verdict.
They could have tried the same defence again, but it wouldn't have played as well to an all-white jury.
