New-Old Skates, how can I make them fit better?
I am getting back into rec hockey after about a 10 year absence from the sport, I have some skates that fit but they are old, like early 90's and the ankle support is terrible.
I picked up an old pair from a buddy of mine, we have the same size shoes, the skate seems to fit good. Right now it is formed to his foot after him wearing them for two seasons, so I imagine it isn't supposed to fit perfectly off the bat.
I got my first game on Monday, just wondering if you guys have any tricks that I can use to get them to form up to my foot better before I use them in a game? Heating is basically out of the question, they are to worn it just wouldn't work.
I am open to any tips right now because I imagine the blisters are going to be huge if I just go out and play in them.
