Gotta love Duceppe's answer on the health care question. He wins both ways by saying that it's a provincial thing that Ottawa should stay out of.

I dunno. 3 leaders are 1 trick ponies with no chance at a government.
Duceppe is clearly the best of that lot

My thoughts on the halfway point.
I think Harper has done a great job so far, he's bringing up points that his government has done and to me he's the only one thats shown credibility. When he bought up page 78 of the Liberal green shift, Dion looked like he swallowed a cannonball.
Duceppe has been terrific, his explanation of intensity targets was brilliant. Other then that he's been the best guy here.
(opps Harper just lost his temper on health care)
Dion has been terrible, he can't defend his plans without making stuff up thats not in his platform.
Layton is economically terrible and niave, he's now pissing off the two have provinces in Alberta and Saskatchewan with his attacks on the oil company. His references to George Bush and the U.S. is an absolutle joke.
Elizabeth May has done a good job with a hopeless position, anything outside of the economy shows that its a joke that she should be there.

May poorly dodges the nationalization question on health care.

I honestly want to know where the Liberals are getting all this money for all the promises Dion is bringing up.

I love that
Harper - "If I can be clear on how the Canada Health Plan works"
Translation - "Wow you idiots are making things up on the fly, have a grenade"

Harper is playing as well as Robbie Shremp. The guy can't look into the camera to save his life. He looks sheepish. His shoulders are hunched over. He keeps looking down and to the left like he is lying or afraid or unsure of himself. Everybody else is addressing the audience. He's addressing his left knee. This is terrible. He's eroding his "leadership" advantage in one fell swoop.
Perhaps the laid back attitude worked in the french debate but this should be his forte. He's not fighting. He's getting gang-beat and because of the lack of time, he doesn't address his opponents. He doesn't even shout over their voices to air any kind of objection to the baseless shots and slander aimed at him. He just shrugs and it gives the appearance that the statements are true and he can't do anything.
You guys are all right that the other guys are slinging baseless slander at him but he's not even showing any objection. He just has that terrible shrug and hunched over look and his twiddles his fingers.

I would love to see him do that, but if he does, the press comes out tommorrow with how mean and Nasty Harper is. In terms of content in this debate, Harper is far ahead of these other yahoos.

I really wanted May to do well in this debate, I don't know if she can redeem herself for what she has said (and not said).

Guess you ignored where I said that Duceppe was doing a great job, and Layton even though he's a fool has done a credible job.

I don't understand exactly what you are saying. Are you saying that the Conservatives would destroy health care? Or are you saying you're not suprised that other parties are taking those shots?

I'm getting a really homer vibe from this thread. You guys are all thinking Harper is winning but I bet the rest of Canada is saying he's getting shot down in flames.
The guy just needs to look the camera and the viewers in the eye. The other leaders are addressing the viewers. Harper is looking sheepish and addressing his right knee.

He is clearly the best of the worst. He is not coming off as a total idiot, while everyone else is. It's a horrible group of potential Prime Ministers.
