Default Idiotic Bus Driver!!!

I've just witness the dumbest thing.

Just got on the (very packed) 48 - Rundle bus approximately 5:30. The bus takes off and reaches the 36th Street/Rundlehorn Drive intersection for it's left turn into Rundle. Problem is that the intersection singles are having technical issues and the train gates won't go up! So for 5+ minutes all traffic is waiting for it to come up and it won't. Only northbound and south bound traffic can go. This appears to have been effecting downward on 16th ave/36th street bridge as well. So the left lane is clogged up while the right lane has traffic going slowly (hey, 5+ minutes of green!!).

So the bus driver had the idea (I'm assuming) to drive on 20th ave and circle around to get back on route. OK, makes sense. Might want to keep in mind that traffic southbound is still happening since the light says green.

I don't know how he manage to think of this and not look for oncoming traffic.

I was sitting around the rear window seats. When the bus pulled out of the far left lane to make a right turn, I saw a car on the right lane coming up as the bus is half way through it's turn. immediantly I thought this can't end good unless the bus driver sees the car and slams the brakes immediantly. Unfortunately neither happen.
BANG!!!

The dumbass bus driver just hit a vehicle on the side of the front bummper!! HOW STUPID!!!!!

So of course all passengers had to leave the bus. And this bus was fully packed. Another body couldn't fit in, which makes the move the busman did even more careless.

Thankfully, both passengers in the collided vehicle appeared fine. Driver didn't look bad on first impression. But his car isn't fairing good having a smoky old time. The bus was damaged with a crack on the window door.
I can't believe he did something as stupid as what he just did. Especially in the position he's in. That was just pure stupid!!!

Does anyone remember the time when a CT driver discovered that a bus couldn't fit under that little bridge in Inglewood by the bus barns and Fort Calgary? I think the scrapes on the bridge are still visible!

I am just hoping all the bus drivers employed by Calgary transit will have sooner or later driven my route so that eventually, we will get a driver that has driven the route before and wont get stuck in a cul de sac, try to drive down a lane and get stuck on a fence, miss a turn or take the wrong exit at the traffic circle.

I want to listen to my iPod and have a nap, not navigate for Calgary Transit.

Isn't 'idiotic bus driver' a redundant statement of sorts?

I've had to navigate for my drivers a few times, once early in the morning making me late for work. There's so many new CT drivers that don't know what they're doing, I can't believe someone would cause an accident with a full bus. What is CT doing to train these people?

I don't take the bus, and have never had a good experience when I have taken it.

Train is not much better but sometimes it's a necessary evil.
