Don't know if you are joking or not. However, Ron Paul is probably one of my favorite politicians even though I don't see eye to eye with him on pretty much anything. He is probably the most honest guy in DC. I wish everyone else emulated him. He has the respect of everyone there as well. If he was in my district I would probably vote for him out of respect.

Wow. I was shocked to learn the bailout didn't pass. Yeah, it wasn't perfect, but thrusting everything back to square one does not seem like a good idea at this time.

Things are rough down there. It's only a matter of time before they get rough up here.

No I'm not joking. He sounds like he actually knows what he's talking about and he said it in plain English. All we've heard is hysterics and bluster.

He's as adamant about not doing this as the other side is about doing it. I think for a lot of us (or at least me) I was in favour of this bailout because everyone was so adamant that it had to be done or we'd be in for a catastrophe. I've seen a few things today that make me think otherwise.

Paul's comments about the dollar being ruined are dead on. He's been blowing this horn for years.

This is a great history lesson, not saying you or anyone needs it, but I found it useful

Hope this isn't a fata, but I really enjoyed this video. It's an animated look at how the banks and money started, and how it has have evolved over the years to what it is now. I'm no economist,, but it was neat to watch if you have some time.

At least minus the conspiracy stuff, but how banks works is interesting

I was downright giddy when the bill didn't pass. I'm so sick of the government misunderstanding what got us into this mess and thinking they can fix it real quick over the weekend. They ignored the warning signs, they allowed corruption to go unnoticed and now they are scrambling to put a band aid on it before the election.

Maybe this country needs to crash so we all learn how to be financially responsible. I guarantee there are plenty of Americans who would survive a so called depression. The politicians in Washington seem to have lost sight of how resourceful and strong Americans can be. Let it all crash so we can show them. Then we make sure they lose THEIR jobs.

Also, slava do you have your email or mailer out to all your clients telling them all "that there's no need to panic" and "selling is exactly the wrong thing to do" all while you sell everything you have. I can bet I am going to get one of those correspondences soon.
Close, but we ran out out of those ones. Instead we use the "now is the perfect time to buy" line, no matter what the prevailing economic conditions!

(We did send something last week about this, and it did say that its a good time to buy...which is what I personally have been doing)

Bah. Whatever. I'm going to keep going about doing what I've been doing everyday even before this who financial mess happened. Let the fat cats and politicians deal with this; I don't even understand what the **** is going on, and I'm dead sure I don't want to know.

Markets may be melting down and all that crap, but nothing beats a cold beer and a woman knocking my junk around. That's all that matters in life anyways.

Very true - hopefully you can afford both after the financial meltdown

Check out Peter Schiff's commentaries. He and Ron Paul had been warning that a severe recession was fast approaching. Too bad no one listened.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of Americans don't even know what's going on. They know that it's going.... but how / when / who / where / why is a head-scratcher.

Any economics want to bust out some muscle and tell me the validity of this thing? I mean, from the vague knowledge I know of money and gold, it seems to piece together events and what I know and what events are going on.

Or am I just too stupid to understand this is just BS and I'm being led on?

That video makes sense in all the wrong ways... I like it but not sure it's as clear cut as it makes out, but it sure does a good job of predicting whats happening...

Yeah, I enjoyed the video, but I don't know enough to know how slanted or bias it is. Any CPers with econ knowledge that can make the video less scary would be greatly appreciated, otherwise, maybe I should start stockpiling my own gold...
