Fable looks pretty awesome, I wonder if you will be able to kick chickens again?

personally i despise rpg's. I'd go for gears 2. Don't do what I do and buy a bucket-load of games and then whine for the following year about not finding the time to play them all!

I don't like to read anything about upcoming games or movies (hype sucks), so I have no clue about what's in store for GoW2.
All I can say, is I hope the campaign part is a hell of a lot longer this time around.

I'm with you on this GOW 2 looks pretty amazing.. I just hate the third person shooter thing.. I have so many games I buy with every intention of playing but never find time.

I love the single player experience (expect when it comes to NHL 2k9..only online multiplayer) so I also hope the single player is more fleshed out.
What's the scoop with Fallout 3? It doesn't look like the regular Fallout games and it reminded me too much of Morrowind (which I tried my best to like) which is a turn off. It's probably because I didn't like playing a 1st person perspective RPG.

This.
Nailing mutant's heads to the wall with a rail spike gun wins every time.
GOW2 will just be GOW... 2. meh.
Fable 2 looks cool too. Probably the next game after Fallout3 for me.

My god, for me it is Gears 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Banjo 3, Rock Band 2 (haven't got it yet). I am getting them all so I will have no time to play any, and I will have no money. At least my job has good hours (5pm-11pm =D)
If it were just one though, Gears of War 2. Looks awesome.

There are some really exciting titles coming out for sure. For me, it's Fallout and Fable. I never played the first Fable, but this one has me intrigued.
Fallout 1/2 are two of my favorite titles and I'm excited as hell for this number three. I know that a lot of people are choked that the game isn't in the traditional isometric view but to me the important thing in fallout was the freedom, the setting and the violence. If they can keep these things intact and improve the flow of the game with the switch to first/3rd person view then I am all for it.
I will probably leave Gears 2 until later. To be totally honest I'm getting tired of these kinds of games and, although Gears 1 was pretty good, I found myself pretty bored fairly quick in the first game.
Also just wanted to point out that on that list Fallout 3 and Dead Space are multi-platform games. I'll probably pick up Fallout 3 for the 360 though, since it has been claimed (citation needed) that the development team favors the 360.

Fallout 3 looks like it will put serious pressure on my relationship, same with Dead Space. However, GOW 2 and Fable 2 will also be amazing.

Isn't it a bit disappointing that everything is a sequel?
Fable 2, GoW 2, Fallout 3, Rock Band 2, StarCraft II, Diable III, Warcraft variants, Sims variants, Madden (insert year here), Star Wars (insert variant here)
Not that I'm upset that there are sequels, but it would be nice if there were a few more originals that generated excitement, instead of the same thing that has already been done, but more. I wonder how many great games never get a chance because they don't have a proven audience and never get noticed.
But I suppose it is hard to look forward to something that hasn't been seen before, while a sequel has an audience wanting more and that creates more "buzz". I'm as guilty as anyone, but when I saw this thread it just struck me that everything mentioned had a number behind the title.

I agree with you for the most part. It is sad to see that most of the "AAA Must Have Titles" are sequels and I would also like to see more new and exciting types of games come out. For the most part it is just easier to make, market and sell tonnes of games that are based around well known franchises.
Sometimes I like to look at the sequels in the light of "what have they done to make this game better than I last remember it" and looking for innovation wherever I can find it. Fallout 3, for example, has been updated in graphics and gameplay (whether these are an improvement is up in the air) and what is kept is the setting and, hopefully, the tone (it also has been AWOL for more than 10 years). Fable 2 is something new to me, since I have never played Fable. Gears of War 2 however looks to me to be exactly like Gears of War 1 with a shinier coat of gray and brown paint, with a few more options thrown in to to make it more interesting killing tons of dudes.
Some games that are coming out that aren't sequels that I am interested in are Mirror's Edge, little BIG Planet, Left 4 Dead and a few more that I can't remember right now. Your new and exciting game choices go up exponentially if you use PC as a gaming platform as well.

Fable was awesome and I found GoW to be a little 'meh'. I will be grabbing Fable 2 for sure and probably borrowing GoW.

I will be getting Fable first if the co-op patch comes out on time. Otherwise I will be getting GoW since I'm still working my way through fallout 1 and 2 on my mac.
