Heres a list of upcoming free agents this year as compiled by Mike Walsh who has done his homework. Add to the list here if necessary.

I haven't taken a look at the list provided by Mike Walsh but you can see the potential CPHL Unrestricted free agents by going to the free agent page.

This is a combined UFA and RFA list. A lot of big names but most are RFA.
Dave Lowry also needs to be added to the list.

Some of the RFA listed have potentially agreed to a contract I would imagine they are just waiting for Jluy 1 to roll around so they will have all 3 years on the contract.
Great work Mike, much easier to form a wish list with your work B-)

just saw the list and noticed that Jarome was on there.
Jarome has signed a new contract which kicks in July 1st,2005, if I am not mistaken.
and I guess I better get a move on with Mr. Dicaire..

Something I just thought of.
Mike if its not a lot of work is it possible to get that spread sheet updated weekly over the summer so that the agents can use it as a reference when negotiating contracts for other free agents...

Man, is that ever a weak, weak crop of unrestricted free agents compared to what was going to be before agents came along. IMO Robert Lang and Alexander Mogilny are the only guys who could play on a top line, and theres rumors of Mogilny retiring. In net, Hasek could maybe do one more year, and Dan Cloutier would certainly improve a few teams. But I'd say that the advent of agents basically eliminated unrestricted free agency from our game as most GM's signed anyone that was worth keeping. I'm not blaming agents by any means, as cap does go down next year, so taking money now is a move that can't be blamed. But as a GM I liked the chance to go add some guys to my team over the summer, especially for GM's that took over bad teams at mid-season. But for the second straight summer it looks like a pretty poor crop of UFA's.

Yep, pretty slim pickings there.
However 21 teams own their own 1st round picks from 2006 on, and some of us have a lot of money.
If you catch my drift.
If you don't that is OK too, you will soon enough B-)

Well that allows you to get one player maximum unless you go and reaquire all those picks, and that players previous team gets the right to match your offer.
But it does bring up some points about what I'd like done regarding former offer sheets for restricted free agents. In the past we never got to this point as a league, but we should address this prior to July 1 as it could be an issue this year. I'll post it later when I have more time. But basically it boils down to each team only being able to sign one RFA, so they shouldn't be making offers on 20 of them when they can only get one. There needs to be a formal process for this just like the NHL has.

One is enough Syl.
With the way things are looking for the rebuilding teams, that one RFA will be worth whatever he costs.
On the other hand, some of them are going to cost more than the current GM can afford. Perhaps he should look at a trade.

Great point Syl. We cant have teams jacking up salaries if they arent even going to get the player. Plus it will make the teams that will offer sheets to RFAs (and potentially drive salaries up) choose a little more carefully who they go after.

21 teams have the means to nab an RFA
I doubt they would all go after the same one.
I have chosen carefully, who I have my eye on have you :P
Of course it would be improper to make a formal offer until July 1st. I can wait till then. And feel out the market while I make other offers to the GMS by the means of trade. But you can be sure there are enough hungry GMs and enough cash flow that a couple of RFA will get a lot of interest from GMs.
