Default Email Newsletters

Part of my marketing campaigns being a mortgage broker involves sending out a monthly newsletter that keeps everyone in my data base up to date on current mortgage news in Canada.

Right now I am just using Microsoft Publisher to create it and while it does a decent job I am looking for something a little more professional.

Does anyone have any experience with email marketing newsletters? Any reccomendations on programs or companies that have very user friendly applications? Something that is cost effective is important as well.

I have googled email newsletters and there are some different options but I just wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand experience.

Thanks!

I've used a bunch, though not for a year or two.

Constant contact was the cheapest with reasonable reporting. Campaigner was better at the time, but a little more dough (still not a lot, like $25-50 a month).

Clickspace is a local company with a very good product, but it's much more money.

The key is to make sure you can customize templates (or have them created) and get user level reporting.

My wife uses the email marketing program Emma, which she loves and is very effective for her purposes. The basic plan is $30 a month, which includes up to 1000 emails (1 email to 1000 customers, or 5 emails to 200 customers, etc.)

It's apparently gotta a higher degree of template design and customization than most, and has good reporting. Pretty easy to use, but I have no idea how it really compares with others out there.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback.
Constant Contact was actually one I was looking at that seemed pretty good. I have seen Clickspace as well. I believe they do the newsletters for the Links of GlenEagles that I get every month.

As far as the reporting goes. What types of reports should they be generating? Things like who is opening them, who is forwarding them? Anything else I should be looking out for?

We use constant contact as well. Nothing bad to say about it really...works great for our company!
