It's Apple.. so whatever way is most annoying to regular people, but works for Apple fanatics.

I wonder if I'd get kicked out if I brought out my first generation iPhone.

So how much data are all of you using per month? I have a contract with Telus ending in December so I'm trying to figure if it's worthwhile to buy out of that ($100) in order to get the $30/6GB deal or if 1GB/month will be plenty.

I used just over 100 MB last month. I looked at the data total on my Rogers bill and almost had a heart attack...

Then I remembered the 6GB/$30 plan.

(I still remember the days when 1 MB of data cost $25 on a Blackberry.)

Since I got the phone in July...328 MB. I wonder how much use it'd take to get to the 6 gigs?

You guys that are listing your data usage, are you browsing the internet fairly heavily?

Other than the odd page during the day it's only every few days that I'll do some heavy browsing, and that usually means 15-20 minutes worth.

I don't think I could even get to 3 gigs if I tried. I don't use my computer for personal email anymore and I surf the Internet about an hour to 2 hours everyday on the bus and I'm only at 400mb.

ok here's a question for you guys...

I just loaded the new 2.1 iphone operating system, and now when I have a txt, it dings/buzz but then if I don't read the txt right away it dings/buzz again and keeps ding/buzzing every 5 min until I look at it. It only used to ding/buzz once before the update, no matter if I checked the message or not. Is this a problem, does your guys do this too, or maybe there is some new setting I can't find?

I want the old version! haha

Ok well TBH I like ONE notification. I have had the phone in my pocket, and everytime it buzzes I am like "oh I am so popular today" but no, it's just the same old same old.

P.S. Don't tell HER I called her that.

its a new setting. not sure exactly where to find it, as I haven't looked.
I kind of like it, since it acts like other phones, in that it will notify me with having to check my phone if i have missed a call or a txt.

I use it quite frequently and my usage is around the same levels others are claiming. I take the train every morning and afternoon, so I'm reading news and such. I honestly wonder if the battery life would allow me to even approach half of the allotted data.

Question about the free calling between family members on the family plan. Okay, this is more a Rogers question than an iPhone question, but does anyone know if the free family calling means I can call my wife long distance free by calling between her Rogers phone and mine? She's in Toronto for the next few days.

Regarding the iPhone: Is there some way that I can get rid of that slide-to-unlock thing that pops up after the phone times out and then I activate is again? I find it annoying.

No kidding. If I were to surf or use GPS for a couple of hours, I'd likely get the "20% battery left warning". I recently turned off Bluetooth to go along with fetch being turned off, hoping to conserve more battery life. Does having lots of apps on the phone run the battery down somehow?
Any other battery-life tricks out there?

EDIT I did a search on TUAW(the unofficial apple website) blog, and it seems that the existing apple stores put on workshops for the iphone. I'd definitely go to one if it were offered here.

I wonder (hope) that I have a crappy battery, and can get it warranty'd when the new store opens.

i don't surf too much, but I was intentionally trying to use as much data as possible (ie. when in the car, i'd stream from my computer using simplify media instead of what was loaded)

I've used 1.2 gigs this month so far. AOL 5 hours a day burns up the data pretty good.

Any about the double notifying of texts since the 2.1 update, as far as I can tell there's no settings to change it, which is annoying.

Have you used a Robbers/Fido hotspot?

They were supposed to include that in the iphone data plans but I've heard they went back on their word.
