for some reason i only do it if i have to take a leak before i brush my teeth...otherwise i just let it go. I'm pretty sure pee/feces particles only float during certain key points of the day.

No, not really.

The cells that cause your sense of smell are mostly in your nasal cavaties not on the back of your toung. Smell helps with your sense of taste, but I don't think it works the other way around.

Also, there are a lot of thigns that make your farts smell, but the major source of the odour is hydrogen sulphide, not particles of poo.

People also often wrongly assume that it is methane that makes farts smell bad, but methane has no odour.

Those are my interesting poo facts of the day.

The particles may not be landing on the back of your tongue, but they are infact entering your nasal cavity. The smell receptors in your nose accept the particles of the fart and that's what makes you smell. Now, that being said, it is definately possible for some of those particles to land on the back of your tongue, being that your nasal cavity and mouthe are connected and when you inhale, not every single particle is attrached to a receptor...
