Man, I thought that last bump would be a conversation starter. I am ashamed.

With the 17th round pick in the draft, Hot Banana Thrust, selects in the "Instrumental Soloist" category the late great, Clifford Brown.

Clifford Brown (October 30, 1930 – June 26, 1956), aka "Brownie," was an influential and highly rated American jazz trumpeter. He died aged 25, leaving behind only four years' worth of recordings. Nonetheless, he had a considerable influence on later jazz trumpet players, including Donald Byrd, Lee Morgan, Booker Little, Freddie Hubbard, Valery Ponomarev, and Wynton Marsalis.

He won the Down Beat critics' poll for the 'New Star of the Year' in 1954; he was inducted into the Down Beat 'Jazz Hall of Fame' in 1972 in the critics' poll. Arturo Sandoval described him as "one of what we call the mandatory trumpet players" who was "one of the greatest trumpet players of all time".

In the album category, I am pleased to select: Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti

Well I wasn't sure if it was posted in response to my pick since I was the pick just before it...

either or I don't see the point on commenting about it if it's not clear who's pick you are board with

Bored with the lack of picks at the time, not with the pick I was referring to.

It was a dually faceted bump!

I think maybe I'm overestimating the popularity of The Young Ones!

Here's a question I've always wondered...

First, I like Zeppelin. I mean, that's like saying I like ice cream... but I don't really know them as well I probably should. I would never turn off a radio if it was playing a Zeppelin song... but I just never got into them as much as I did Metallica or Slayer... or even the Doors or Sabbath (to go back to Zeppelin's era).

Anyway, having said all that... How does Houses of the Holy stack up amongst all their records? I can read stats and album sales, etc... but I mean how do the fans like Mr Fish or you, Habby, rate that record?

My favourite Zeppelin song is easily Over the Hills and Far Away, which is why I'm asking.

I'd say it's one of their better ones for sure. Lots of good songs on that record, No Quarter, Dancing Days, The Ocean, and Over the Hills and Far Away. It's definitely one of their lighter albums though, alot more folky/easy going and less rocky than some of their others (such as Physical Graffiti).

Great album, very fond of it, in my top 3 for Zep albums (Led ZeppelinIV is the other). The Rain Song still gives me goosebumps.

I'm a big fan of No Quarter, so Houses of the Holy is way up on my list. They are all very good, though. So I don't think you'd be disappointed if you bought any of them...especially for someone who lists a song like "Over The Hills and Far Away" as their favorite.

You're hearing it!

Come on people... We're in the home stretch, dig deep, let's keep this thing moving, no more AK's!

I (like probably everyone else) have been a Zep fan for as long as I can remember, so I have gone through the discography in terms of what my favorite album has been at any given time... But right now, I can definitively state, Houses of the Holy is my favorite Zep album!

Neon Dion and The Iggy Pops select in the instrumental Solo Category, Charlie Parker Jr.

Charles Parker, Jr. (August 29, 1920March 12, 1955) was an American jazz saxophonist and composer.
Parker is widely considered one of the most influential of jazz musicians, along with Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. Parker acquired the nickname "Yardbird" early in his career,[2] and the shortened form "Bird" remained Parker's sobriquet for the rest of his life, inspiring the titles of a number of Parker compositions, such as "Yardbird Suite" and "Ornithology."

48 hours actually. The rule is 24. Some of us would actually like to keep this thread moving.
