Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm buying tires for my 2006 CR-V. Presently it's just got the factory stock tires on presently and they have close to 50,000 km's on them now... plus the road noise is atrocious.

I'm looking for 215/65-16's but obviously with a CR-V they aren't going to be high performance, I just want some all seasons to reduce the road noise.

I notice a lot of you praising Nokian tires, but are they more for sport/performance or should I be looking at them as well... what would you guys recommend.

I never realized how ignorant I was when it came to tires.

For whatever you buy check out Tire Rack. Ridiculously cheap even when shipping via ups is taken into account. www.tirerack.com

I put Nokians on my Grand Am. It was incredible the difference they made. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on any vehicle.

Dirty Joke Alert!!

What's the difference between a tire and 365 used condoms?

One's a Goodyear, the other is a great year.

I would be putting them on my car, but I have a 55 profile tire and anything under a 60 profile have a 50,000 km rating, the 60 profile and higher come with a rating of 80,000km.

Since I don't want to replace my tires after 40km (again), I am going with the Goodyear assurance TripleTred. They are very highly rated on tirerack and come with a 130km rating.

If these tires are garbage in the winter, I will get a set of winter tires in a year.

I just put on WR2's on my Passat, but I don't get to drive that much anymore so I can't comment on how good they are.

Specifically, the survey page is especially useful when doing your research. The TripleTreds have an awesome snow/ice rating - way more so than many other AS tires.

I went and got these tires on my Grand Am in May-ish, and they are awesome, big improvement over what I used to have (factory goodyears). Kal-Tire had them on for cheap, and they are supposed to last a while.

That being said, I am getting winter tires for the car. Those Falken's get mixed reviews when it comes to snow/ice, mostly being bad, so I am going to get a good winter set. If you want all seasons and don't want winter tires, those might not be a good idea.

I would suggest calling some tire shops and seeing what they recommend to you, and then look them up online to see what others have to say about them.

www.tiretrends.com for comparable pricing to tire rack. They are located in Maple Ridge so you don't need to worry about UPS raping you for brokerage fees.
