Every person I've ever met named Elliot has red hair and freckles. Try it, you'll see the same.

I once met a woman who went by"T.S. Elliott."
Now I thought that was cool being named after a famous poet, but as I was preparing her taxes, I needed to know what the initials stood for:
The. Seventies. Elliott.
I couldnt stop laughing the whole time, I couldnt even look her in the eye, I could tell she was supremely pissed, but I guess theres a good reason why she goes by T.S.

TOP 20 BOY'S NAMES, 2007
1. Aidan (Aiden) (oh no, the Sex in the City generation is having kids!)
2. Ethan
3. Jacob (Jakob, Jakeb)
4. Noah (seriously, how many arks do we need?)
5. Lucas (Lukas)
6. Logan
7. Liam
8. Owen
9. Joshua
10. Matthew (Mattew)
11. Nathan (Naythan)
12. Nicholas (Nicolas)
13. Zachary (Zakary)
14. Alexander (Alekzander)
15. Dylan (Dillon, Dillan)
16. Jack
17. Benjamin
18. Jackson (Jaxson, Jaxon, Jaxen) (isn't that a last name?)
19. Ryan
20. William
TOP 20 GIRL'S NAMES, 2007
1. Emma
2. Sophia (Sofia)
3. Olivia
4. Emily
5. Ava (no idea it would be that high)
6. Hailey (Haley, Halie, Haylee, Hayleigh, Hayley)
7. Abigail (Abigale, Abigayle) (blast from the past?)
8. Madison (Madisson, Madisyn, Madisynne, Madyson) (the Beatrices of their generation?)
9. Hannah (Hanna)
10. Isabella (Izabella)
11. Sarah (Sara)
12. Addison (Addyson, Addisson) (again, can't see this one sticking around: all the people with this name will be born within a ten to twenty year span, which will be fantastic when they're 60-80 - you're name is Addison? You must be old.)
13. Maya (Maia, Maiya, Mya)
14. Lilly (Lily)
15. Sophie (Sofie) (not to be confused with Sophia, Sofia, which is second on the list)
16. Alyssa (Alissa)
17. Kaitlyn (Katelyn)
18. Mikayla (Makayla)
19. Grace (give your kid a name, not a word)
20. Ella (no idea this would be so high - the only one I've heard of is Fitzgerald)
Kind of surprised many of these names make the list. I suspect those are the ones that are trendy today, and will be "dated" 50 years from now. Like Beatrice. There aren't many young people named Beatrice, but there are lots of old people name Beatrice!

I just heard of what some local athletes named their kids and thought of this thread.
Theo Fleury named his daughter Skylah and Kaleb Toth named his son Deo.

If so, does that mean that Kaleb Toth wants his son to be God?

If I had a boy I was going to name him Pirate, turns out we are having a girl and I am thinking Pirate, that seems like a gender neutral name.
My wife doesn't seem to like the name. I can't figure out why not.

I like that one a lot! But I can sort of see it not being as gender neutral. Ninja, on the other hand, would be a great girl's name. Although I imagine that people would pronounce it Nin-ya.

Pirate Ninja? Can the two peacefully co-exist if included in a single name or would the poor child be doomed to schizophrenia?
You know some ass-hat would mispronounce 'Pirate' resulting in swiftly repeated blows to the head....

My mother in law hates the name I picked for my son. She said that Cody was a stupid name for a 60 year old man. Well, there will be plenty of old men named Cody in 40-60 years. Plus my mother in law will be long dead by then, so she won't have to worry about it.

Yeah, it'll be a little different. He'll be a 60 year old man named Cody, and the 90 year old people will be called "Candace" and "Todd". Seems kind of funny that someone will have "Grandma Tammy".
We bailed on the "typical" old people's names like Florence, Evelyn, Howard and Walter a long time ago.

Different thinking about it now. It won't be different in 60 years. It will be quite common.
