Is it possible to hook up a single monitor to two computers?

Yes, by using a KVM device.

Yup. You just need a KVM switch.

I've been looking around for a decent switch for my home office, but they don't seem to exist yet. I need a DVI + USB + Sound for 2 computers, which none of the local stores seem to stock.

Most LCD monitors have two inputs. DVI and VGA. Just feed each computer into each separate feed.
The best part of a KVM switch though is that you can use the same keyboard and mouse and speakers for each computer.

Monoprice.com

KVM Splitters

Bout 5 bucks, plus what would amount to 2 bucks shipping. Will be more if you are not using standard monitor VGA cables.Depending on what if you have HDMI/Svideo/DVI etc video in/outs
