Well I caved and listened to it today. I'm still going to buy the disc in stores, in addition to the three songs from iTunes I've already paid for, but I couldn't wait any longer. I freaking love this album. So many great songs on it, and right now my favorite might be Unforgiven III or Suicide and Redemption. It is certainly not my favorite Metallica album, but it is damn good. I suppose if I had to rate the studio albums today:

1. Justice
2. Load
3. ReLoad
4. Ride
5. Death
6. Master
7. Kill
8. Black
9. Anger

I caved on two songs that were played last night when they hosted a radio special with the Foo Fighters. Listened to The Judas Kiss and Broken, Beat, and Scarred and loved both. I like both Old School and from the Black to St. Anger era but it's nice to see them come out with an album like this and prove to all the naysayers they aren't too old to play thrash.

New info on the DLC. It will include two versions of Suicide and Redemption and the GH3 version will work on GH: World Tour once it's released.

The album is now available in the Xbox Live marketplace. Downloading as we speak.

Edit- These songs are kicking my ass on hard. Can't pass them.

Yeah, I downloaded them before I went to work so they'll be ready to play when I get home.

Just checked and it looks like my order of the album was sent out Tuesday from mymusic.ca which is Metallica's Canadian online distributor for the album so it should be in today which is a pleasant surprise. Kind of defeats the purpose of the Digital Download I got last night at midnight but I probably would have payed the same anyway with shipping charges getting it shipped from BestBuy or Futureshop.

I'll buy the GH3 album, but not both. They should include the DLC if you buy there CD.

Apparently Bestbuy in the states is offering that. But like it always seems the Canadian Bestbuy gets left out of promotions like that.

I freaking love it. I got rained out at work today, so I went to Walmart to pick up the disc, and just drove around while listening to the whole thing in my car (I don't have a nice stereo at home). I have listened to the full album many times before this, but it was nice to hear it on CD quality. It is a breath of fresh air for me. I haven't really been all that into newish music from anyone lately, mainly sticking to my CD collection and whatever the radio plays. I hear so many mixes of old and new Metallica, that it makes me happy. I've been a fan of their music from every generation, so I am pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it too. I've been listening to it all week... I haven't listened to one of their CDs that much for 20 years.

So awesome.

I'ma stop at the mall after work today to pick up the CD. Can't wait to hear a clear version. (even though I've heard the retail CD suffers from the same clipping and lousy mastering that the leaked demo did)

I went to the mall as soon as it opened at 9:30. This is what I was expecting back in 1991. I only had a chance to listen to the first 5 songs, before I went back to the office. All 5 of them kicked ass. Nice to pop in a new Metallica disc and be blown away. Since 1991 every Metallica album I have listened to, I was like Yawn, but I kept telling myself that it would grow on me (which they never did). No need with this one, it kicks Mother F*&^%$g Ass right out of the box. WELCOME BACK BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know it's a good Metallica album when you can listen to the whole thing on replay over and over again. I've tried doing that with the albums since Black and it just wasn't there. Justice was the last one I coudl honestly do that with, Black was not quite there.

It is a really good album, like really good. Best way I can describe it is Justice with undertones of Lightning in it (minus James singing, which is better then it has been but still not what it used to be).

I'm going to listen to it again right now!

I downloaded the album for GH3, and it's pretty killer, it comes with an alternate version of Suicide and Redemption. Pretty tiring clicking my fake little guitar at 8 minutes a song.

No kidding, playing four of the eleven songs after I got home from work was enough for me and I haven't played GH3 in quite a while (have been playing the drums for Rock Band for most of the year) so it's a little tough for me getting used to playing the guitar again.

Bought my seats this morning for the Metallica shows in Edmonton and Calgary. Row 1 in Edmonton, section 209 or something in Calgary. I look forward to it!

Damn you ....LOL.

Played a bit of Death Magnetic on Guitar Hero last night. After the second song my hand was already tired. Had to stop and take a break, went back to play "The Day That Never Comes", and I had to stop after that....LOL.

A friend and I went to a Ticketmaster location, while a friend stayed home on the internet. The very first guy in line was already looking at only second deck seating for Edmonton. It was a zoo. A few morons showed up at 5:00AM to line up for tickets, only to realize it was a random number lineup.

Lucifer, did you try unsuccessfully to get tickets?
