Timothy Dalton (most like the novels) and then George Lazenby are #1 and #2
Lazenby's OHMSS is the best Bond film. The ending was amazing.
The rest of the list is Connery, Daniel Craig, Brosnan (too bad he didn't pick up the role in the 80s like he was supposed to instead of getting too old), Roger Moore was the worst.
Funny though, when I was younger, I thought Moore was the best Bond...
Me too, it might have something to do with For Your Eyes Only being the first Bond film I saw. For the longest time I felt that Moore, was "my" Bond. Interesting considering I'm only 22....
Roger Moore. Maybe it has to do with him being the first Bond I knew. I think it's also another reason why I immediately liked Craig, even before I saw the new Bond. He kinda looks like him.

I refuse to accept Craig as Bong because he is blond!
1. Connery (Should take this in a landslide)
2. Craig (Fantastic)
3. Dalton (I thought he was great, really underrated)
4. Lazenby
5. Brosnan (Wasn't really a fan, partly because I thought the movies - besides Goldeneye - were terrible)
6. Moore
Brosnan had great potential. Unfortunately, he suddenly seemed to age very fast (or they gave him terrible cropped haircuts) and he got saddled with taking Bond through some very lame movies post Goldeneye as the writers just didn't seem to have any idea what he would be fighting against if not the Russians. A television/entertainment mogul as the arch enemy? A crazy rich French MILF? North Koreans in a frozen ice palace from the Ice Capades? What??? I thought this was James Bond, not Batman 1966.
I think if Brosnan was in Casino Royale and not the crap that he was in, this would be a totally different argument. Brosnan just has a really slick look and has James Bond written all over him, but the films he was in with the exception of Goldeneye were absolute trash. Brosnan was the victim of crappy movies that will forever tarnish his status in the "Who's the best Bond" argument.
Lazenby's OHMSS is the best Bond film. The ending was amazing.
If I'm not mistaken, the ending was originally set to be the beginning of Diamonds Are Forever, but Lazenby decided not to continue the series (hence bringing Connery back for one more film).
I hear Lazenby and Diana Rigg didn't get along AT ALL on set either..
Brosnon was fantastic in Golden Eye, In my opinion a top tier Bond Movie and dropped off after that mostly because the writing got consitantly worse in the next few movies.
I think that Craig could suffer the same fate. One movie does not make James Bond. If he can real off 3 solid movies then he might be my bond. And why did they switch from Baccarat (which no one understands) to Holdem an over televised game which all they show is All ins, instead of the much more meaningful hands of blind stealing and good post flop play
Moore really turned Bond into the Playboy but his movies eventually seemed repetitive
Dalton was terrible
Lazeby, good movie but only one
so that leaves me with Conery as still the best followed my Moore
