So east carolina gets it done and in extremely convincing fashion...24-3. And the score makes it look closer than it was.
ECU has won its last 3 games...all against ranked oppenents. Unheard of really. Lou Holtz has to be a proud papa. they HAVE to be ranked top 15 now the more I think of it.
BRUTAL ending to the Huskie game....ridiculous call against Blocker.

Montana beats Cal-Poly 30-28 in San Luis Obispo, a team that beat division 1 San Diego State last week. Go Griz!

UCF is a pretty solid program. It's not too much of a surprise that they kept it close.

I wouldn't say BYU pulled it out. I'd say Washington got jobbed.
This isn't the NFL - let the kids play ball and have some fun.

yeah, you're right. they put up a solid fight vs. the bulls last year...
but the huskies definitely got a raw deal there. but last i checked, the ref didn't block the kick.

I laughed about this headline on Fark.com

The weenies in Austin - which is 212 miles away from the Gulf Coast - postpone their game with Arkansas because of Hurricane Ike. Is that a longhorn or a uterus on your helmets?

They postponed it because they were saying windspeeds could >60 mph, however that changed this morning as they now predict it will barely hit us.

Isn't there a big Oregon fan here? I was wondering what he thought of Chris Harper so far. Local kid.

USF comes up with a HUGE 3rd quarter and last second field goal to beat a solid Kansas team. Big win for the bulls and the program down there.

yep and says something about the Big XII if Kansas does well for the rest of the year.

Does it though? Kansas loses to a team ranked 5 spots below them and it says the Big 12 is bad if Kansas pulls off a couple upsets in the Big 12? South Florida was #1 at one point last year whether deserved or not. They are a very good football program. It's quite possible S. Florida was underrated.

nobody said bad, I just think the Big XII has some decent teams but no one seriously contending for the NC ... well see though.

I'm an Oregon fan, I'm not sure if I'm the poster you're thinking of; their games aren't on TV enough up here for me to have any sort of expert opinions, but they're the team I follow the most. Anyway, I love his athleticism, very hard to bring down and perfectly suited to Oregon's offense which seems to be favouring the run more than most years this year. I don't have a read on his passing yet really, and with Oregon's depth at QB I'm not sure how long it will take for him to move up the depth chart, but with his credentials, I get the sense that they're trying to get him a lot of game exposure in situations where there won't be a lot of pressure and were he can succeed.

Just a perfect example of how they're using Harper. Roeper was moving the ball up the field fairly successfully, then with the ball at the 30, they bring Harper in, call a running play, Harper gets 10 yards, then they take him out and put Roeper back in*. Again, they're just putting him situations where he's going to succeed.
*and he throws an int.
