Then you might be surprised what people will tell you, without actually sharing their honest thoughts. While they arent purposely malicious, they have everything to gain in entertainment value by you doing it, and nothing to lose.
Plus, take their words with a grain of salt, as a lot of decent guys will talk locker room bravado about "bangin' the stripperz"...etc, but if many were actually presented with the chance, they wouldn't touch it.
And of course this doesnt apply to everyone, as a minority of guys will bang that stripper. Are those the guys you want to date? Answer that, and you answered your own initial question.

Good points . Of course it's entertainment value... and I know there is a possibility they're telling me what I want to hear. And I know all about male bravado... I play on a coed hockey team. Where talking dirty is useful when facing off against the opposing team (Just kidding..but it would probably work!) I won't even date a guy who has a porn stash,BTW. All this leaves me out huh??

Before we get too carried away here, how about we refrain from lumping "all strippers" or "all" anything in the same pile?
I've known stripers and call girls that had their heads screwed on better than some bankers, tax accountants and nurses that I've also known.
Seriously. Why is it so difficult to seperate a job from a person?

Exactly.
Any good man will appreciate you for who you are and not what you do.

You're asking a question that's as old as society, and the answer of which is irrelevant. This is the world we live in, and you're sticking your head in sand if you don't acknowledge that.

Thank you too Icarus. It's ironic that part of the reason I want to do this is so I won't be a financial drain on whomever I DO end up with...some complete scum according to SOME people...

True but why not try to change it in at least a small way?

Haha.
At the of the day, hun, you're the only one that has to walk in your shoes.
Anyone who won't associate with you because of what you do for a living isn't someone you'd probably want to be with anyway.

I really needed that comment a few months ago in relation to my regular job. No job has a worse stereotype than Postal Worker. We are ALL idiots remember. I guess that includes Bukowski and Faulkner

I disagree. It might be the world you know, but clearly I live somewhere else. I don't live by pre-judgments or preconceived notions.
Some people don't trust or respect anyone unless they've earned it.
I'd rather trust and respect everyone until they've unearned it.
I'm not saying either way is right... I'm just saying that thinking everyone lives like you do seems more like sand in your eyes than mine.

Guess I could have been clearer. Politics for me right now is more of hobby.
I make a living as a bookkeeper. I bill out at $45-$90 per hour depending on the services provided.... and no, none of by services involve sexual gratificaton....

Why do you say that? I don't care what you look like; the guys might.
It is a job that can be done regardless of looks.

Because:
1) there's a ton of decent women out there who arent in the sex industry, and enough so, that decent guys can be picky in this regard.
2) Everybody judges each other (whether they admit it or not!!!), especially when looking at dating prospects.
3) Men arent supposed to be so superficial, so we need to assess other factors....ergo what is your profession?
4) Our mothers will never accept your profession choice, regardless of how sterling your personality is. Inevitable conflict.
5) The women who tend to get involved in this, tend to be borderline or histrionic personality disorder. Maybe you're totally normal but your now fighting an uphill battle in my mind.
....and on and on. Perhaps each in isolation is minor, but taken as a whole, its alot of spent effort to overcome. Why bother?

Juno was an awesome movie. One of my all-time favourites.
...and that quote isn't mine. I stole it from Garth Brooks.

As have I.

Rightly or wrongly; it's human nature to form first impressions based on how people look, what they do for a living, what their hobbies are, etc.

It's not going to be my "profession" for life. I want to pay my IRS debt and buy a terrible gas guzzling SUV for cash. I'm sure any mom will be happy to know that my house is paid for and I owe nothing and have my own business and am happily writing a book. Mom doesn't need to know the other...who really knows about Mom???
