Default Need help shipping a package from the US (with UPS Rant)

Here's the problem -- I wanted to place an order from a US online retailer (https://www.sportsdepot.com/) but they only ship to Canada via UPS. For those who haven't had the privilege of shipping with UPS before, basically they will take your take your item and tack on an additional $30-$80 dollars in brokerage fees and other bogus charges before they deliver the package to you. I'd buy from a different website but unfortunately they don't have what I'm looking for.

Here's the request -- is there anyone in the US that would be willing to act as a "shipping intermediary" by accepting the goods and then shipping them up to Canada via USPS? All the expenses will be covered, with good karma and perhaps a special bonus as a thank you for your time

UPS is the worst company I've ever dealt with, ever. It is absolutely remarkable that they remain in business.

If Montana Moe can't help, just send me a PM. I'd be happy to.

why are their brokerage charges "BS"? its a legitimate service being provided over and above the transportation.

the only reason you dont get charged it by USPS is because Canada Post is subsidized by the tax payer. A completely uneven and unfair commercial playing field.

So he's already paid for the brokerage though his taxes.. why pay it again?

They are BS because Fedex and DHL, etc. don't do what UPS does. When they do charge brokerage fees, they are typically 10-20% of what UPS charges.

There are so many Canadians looking for "Amerifriends" who can be shipping intermediary's because of UPS or even websites and ebay sellers who simply don't ship to Canada.
