I'm just excited for this season to start, just to have some sports to watch, news to read.I'm interested to see just how good Jered Mayo plays, I have a wierd feeling that going to NE was the best thing that could have ever happened to him.

I also cannot wait until Monday night....Vikings vs Packers....finally getting to see this defense in action, and wondering wether Jackson can be efficent enough to not lose games for Minnesota.

Seriously, I think we have to see how well they have adjusted their aging line-backers. That was the biggest weakness last year.
 |
Well their aging LB's will all look like Pro Bowl candidates after week 1. Their schedule is soft, not 1972 Dolphins soft, but soft enough an elite team like the Pats should have no problem getting a first round bye.

I don't believe for a minute that he was every seriously injured. His foot MIGHT have been sore. Beyond that, it's all Bellichick mindgames.

I'm thinking that's $5 you'll never see again.

Well the big day is finally here. Can the Skins pull off a division win on the road against the defending Super Bowl Champions?

Im gonna go with.....no.

Rookie head coach, questionable at best QB, emotion of the fans welcoming the SB Champs....and home field advantage.

Might actually be a good game to take in a survivor pool!!

That being said I would not wager a red penny on this game...division games are just too tough to tell sometimes.

I think the Giants will prefail as well. Hope it is a good one. I will be on the road so I'll have to listen instead of watch.

THANK GOD THE SEASON IS STARTING.....
I see the Giants taking this game for reasons mentioned above by transplant.

I think it will be a close game thought, but in the end, Manning and crew take the W.

I'm still nervous about the inside run game. I think Bush(and the Saints) will have a great season if Deuce and Thomas can remain healthy and effective all season. But if Deuce goes down and Thomas can't handle the load, I worry about this team becoming a very obvious passing team like they did last year. And that is not the kind of team that wins games in the play-offs.

Daunte Cullpepper informed Sirius NFL Radio by email, that he is retiring from the NFL.

Well he's pretty much the reason I became a Vikings fan in the first place. But his inconsistant play and his whiney bitchy attitude eventually got him booted out of Minnesota.Best of luck to him in his post-NFL life.

I found this pretty funny. The Kansas City Stars, Jason Whitlock, trying to convince Belichek to sit Tom Brady on Sunday against the Chiefs.http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chi...ry/779409.html

As long as he can move the ball between the 30s and post two or three field goals, you guys will be in great shape. You put four field goals on the board and you can toss your rookie quarterback on the field for a few series in the second half. |

NFL.com says the game tonight starts at 7:00 pm EDT. Anyone have any idea what time the actual kickoff goes at?

Should be shortly after 5:00 pm MDT - the Kickoff pre-game concert is already underway:http://www.nfl.com/kickoff

The NFL ushers in its 89th season with a special, free pregame event, "NFL Opening Kickoff 2008 Presented by EA Sports." Usher, Keith Urban and Natasha Bedingfield will perform at the Kickoff concert event from New York City's Columbus Circle on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The event begins at 3 p.m. ET with a public screening of the New York Giants edition of "America's Game," with musical performances starting at approximately 4 p.m. and running until 6:45 p.m. Admission is free, tickets are not required, and all are welcome.

		| Once the musical show is over, the real spectacle begins -- the first regular season game of the year. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET at Giants Stadium and the game will be aired on NBC and online, right here at NFL.com. |
So, closer to 6 pm MT.

Sounds like right at 6pm, so I guess if I want to go out and watch this at a pub somewhere, I 'd better get a few things done in a hurry.
 Thanks
